Yeah, as best I can tell, the windows seem intact, at least in the east side. Fingers crossed anyway. I didn’t board up my house, but did my mother’s place. She still had the plywood and Plyox clips from Rita.

Yes, that is a 1979 El Camino. It was my dad’s and has been in the family almost 40 years. I hope it isn’t messed up too bad. Flying shingles will do a number on a paint job. Luckily, I still carry full coverage on both my old cars. I keep them insured for this very reason.

good to hear ,on the lighter side ,would not worry about the rum ;) from what iv'e learned about you so far ,the good stuff is most likely buried in yard with your gold;)just hoping for a smile:)

Should send your neighbor over to secure it and put in safe place...however, I'm slightly doubtful that rum will be high on the list of most looters
I started to leave him a key. I have a freezer full of meat, fish and shrimp decomposing as we speak. I was going to throw all that out before we left, but I was overruled. I’m sorry if I already said some of this stuff earlier. I can’t remember what I have said between here, Facebook and our home forum. And there is that age thing...

Good morning y'all. My husband's grandmother passed away last night. Her mind was still sharp at 98. A remarkable woman. Taught herself to read and drive. Raised 4 kids solo while her husband was in a TB sanitarium, and worked as a real Rosie the riveter during the war. Never drank a drop or smoked, and read the Bible every day.

Sorry to hear that. She has seen a lot in her years. Sounds like she had a fulfilling life.

I have a 7 year old

Cute fish ! Am I seeing Cyano right below the fish?? If so, it has to go

No. That’s going to be almost impossible. Most people now are taking accommodations in New Orleans, which is further away than I am now. An open letter posted from our mayor was pleading with people to stay put at least another week before trying to get home. No running water with no estimated time to be restored. Weeks at a minimum. Electricity the same. No gas. It took my neighbor over an hour to get to her son’s home which is only 5 miles away. Streets blocked everywhere by downed trees and utility poles. It is just a huge widespread mess.
Horrible news. I hope they use the resources coming and get you back on track. Just an incident no one plans. I swear our storms are getting more and more fierce !

I think it goes in cycles. The early 60’s had some horrible storms on the Gulf coast.

The grubby puddle looks amazing as always ;)

Thanks, I just caught and removed a wrasse from the twins, about 4 weeks trying, hopefully the twins will chill out again. :)
Puddle is always chilled, three fish that can graze or hunt all day, baby tang is like tummy central. :)
