The Miracle Tank

This ain’t pretty lol. 10 year old diy 40 breeder that has been on too many of my tanks lol.

To the right of the sump is the chiller (don’t think it has ever cut on, as my wife is an Eskimo), 20 long as an ATO container, 4x APC smart ups 3ks, my doser, bottles for dosing and my testing stuff.

I will say, sea lettuce, graciliria, cheato, and some random macros from Florida keep the water clean.

my approach, keep it simple, skimmer only runs once a week for 6 hours on the night it runs.

But what isn't pretty about it? Solid DIY design, Multiple types of algae, shallow sand, occasional skimming. That right there is the beautiful part of sumps, just like displays, even though they all serve the same purpose, every one of them is completely different. Different filtration techniques and methodologies, equipment implementations. It's all fantastic!!

Thats ok. My build started in 2016, finally got it wet in 2018, then changed jobs and had to put it in storage for a year...started back on it in Feb/March of this year...wet since June...I think...I'd have to look to make sure but I'm being lazy tonight ;)
