Maybe a sister company?

$173 for that!?!? I'll stick with the $40 IP camera from amazon. 720p at 0.9mp is a pretty out dated.

Does it come with a scratch resistant lens and will the black seal turn grey after cleaning with vinegar?

You're paying for the ability to submerse the unit and supply and demand. give it 6 months and the units will sell for half that

I've seen this camera in person on a 400 gallon tank at Coral Vue.
I am not easily impressed with such toys as this, I have to admit I want one for my tank.
I think it would be a valuable tool to monitor my reef live while on vacation along with my apex data.
Set if eyes on the tank when mine are t physically present is mighty sweet in my opinion.
I think I would keep the camera mounted on the outside of the tank.

This will be awesome if you install it on a moving light rail and it will moves from left to right and back so you capture the whole topdown of your tank.
Thanks CoralVue for bringing another amazing gadget on the market.

what do you think of the item? would you recommend it?
Sorry for delay replying.
Yes I would recommend works fine except under full blues but saw recently on TMC fb page that there was a suggestion that they are going to correct this. Hopefully a firmware update.

I must be missing the point? If it was cheaper i'd be all over it, but i spent less than half on a high quality home security camera to monitor my tank, has an app, have had zero issues. I'm not sure what having the camera underwater does for the tank? I could never monitor my sump area (which houses all of my hardware, electrical components, etc) with the camera in the tank... And if I wanted underwater footage i'd just buy a AKASO (cheap version of a gopro) which i've taken snorkeling and its of equal quality. Just my two cents! :D
