I really have no idea, the vendor didn't know either. I bought it at Reefapalooza (forgot which vendor, I visited every booth) this past weekend. $40 for a 1/2" size glued to a frag plug. Rather pricey but I think the rarity and color justifies it.What is it need to know. Also need to know where people are getting it from
Nice start! Is that a Kenya or a Koji Wada in there?Just started today. Long time coming. Hopeful for success.
Plumbed to main system. Just keeping it all away from the tangs and urchin lol
Kenya I need koji. Everyone has terribly small frags for outrageous prices so farNice start! Is that a Kenya or a Koji Wada in there?

That post was saying how much I bought it for and where. Not sure if I'm willing to sell, or if I'm even set up to do so. (I've sunk $15k+ in this hobby but haven't sold a single thing yet :winking-face-with-tongue:)Willing to buy!
When it's ready
Algae gets trimmed quick here... Always have fragsThat post was saying how much I bought it for and where. Not sure if I'm willing to sell, or if I'm even set up to do so. (I've sunk $15k+ in this hobby but haven't sold a single thing yet :winking-face-with-tongue:)
But if I do, I'll remember you first for this no-name macroalgae :)
If it's growing as fast as chaeto, I'll send you some for free + shipping! The vendor at reefapalooza told me it's an extremely slow grower.Algae gets trimmed quick here... Always have frags

I currently have this "frag" in it's own acclimation box in the DT (shared with the CSB nem). Otherwise, tangs will eat it, and light in refugium might not be enough.
Hi Lakereef,Yes! Macros are awesome! Here’s some pictures of my sunlit refugium. Algae grows so much faster than coral it’s a constantly changing underwater garden. Perfect place for all those cool little invertebrates that would get lost in a larger aquarium. And many times I have to turn off my skimmer it’s so efficient at lowering nutrients.

Their dragon's breath set up is amazing. Here's my heavily inspired set up :)Beautiful macro tanks everyone! I love the dragons breath, my favorite so far! Has anyone seen @TopShelfAquatics macro algae farm, wow! Their dragons breath !
Where is a good place to purchase more rare macro's? I used liveplants.com in the past, but they have pretty generic algae. I'm looking for more like red hex, mermaid cups, etc. Thanks! I think it's a type of gracilaria.
Mosaic Macros. There's also The Macro Lady. And Alyssa's Seahorse Savvy also sells them.Where is a good place to purchase more rare macro's? I used liveplants.com in the past, but they have pretty generic algae. I'm looking for more like red hex, mermaid cups, etc.
beautiful in its own way.....I could see a seahorse or two in there.....just a thought. :)The boom and bust cycles of macroalgae is fascinating. In my setup I found that no one species can dominate forever. Almost every one of the species I had was dominant at one stage. They seemed to take it in turns of exploding and borderline perishing like a seasonal alien garden.
