Frags corals are mostly still ok. One of them , has died I think (it’s bleached out ).

Older corals are all growing slowly , not quiet thriving

I am lagging on water changes, but occupied with personal stuff. Just doing bare minimal go keep the tank going . Thanks to reef-pi and rest of the simplicity rest everything (alk at 8) and algae is under control .

the yellow tenius is finally taking off slowly

The other two fhc frags . I did dumb thing by glueing them so low. It helped with acclimation , not long term growth . :-(

My blackcap basslet , absolutely love this fish . Very mobile , very pretty

I like the forest fire digitata mesh that has grown in the back wall. Thinking if it will become a problem . I feel I can get rid of it relatively easily .
Milli is growing fastest (light ?) . I am fragging it aggressively to shape the colony. I want it to arch right side and not left where other acro frags are glued .

have to do some large water change. There’s few aiptasia but I’m not too worried about those , I just have to go with NaOH injection to deal with those .

that’s all for today ,
Thank you for reading through my tank journal

last week I did a 10G water change. cleaned up the mp40 wet side with citric acid. They look pristine now. Planning to get to those pesky aiptasia next.
palythoa grand is colony. this colony is with for been a long time. , hardy coral And I love the coloration.

battle coral pink style and miyagi tort. Both has grown well,
38CE3772-A6A6-44D2-B4E5-C1B50B2DE1AF.jpeg

I was checking the older pages of this thread , and these corals introduced on October 2021. So this is the growth in about a year and 4 months. Just for tracking,
my strawberry shortcake, it continued to grow. I made one frag already, I want to trim it more on the left side, else it will shade other sps
C93EA98A-CCC6-44BC-AE4B-21635AB700DC.jpeg

i am seeing the challenges with kessil style point lights… I’m thinking what’s next step.. I can get a few strip light to supplement, but may be in a year or so , after other corals have grown significantly
red milli .. it continued to grow fastest, I’m am thinking it’s position is a key contributor

0F1E0089-82FC-4E87-817C-AAD940C17B7E.jpeg

all the branches that were fragged have grown new tips…within couple of months
raja rampage (or space invader).. growing slowly and drooping over , it will be so cool if it makes a complete waterfall like structure ..

my goni and yellow leptastrea
B4FE026A-8E83-447E-B43B-72A6E58BC349.jpeg

goni is doing so so.. it’s not quiet thriving …but also not dying. It got stung by the rainbow echinata, and I rarely give any reef roid. Have to get started on that

here’s a view of the Central Valley :)
EE331FF1-2CBC-41A4-9D27-ED42EAB67BCB.jpeg

on the equipment side , nothing new… reef mat 500 is working as expected. I messed up the replacement roller fleece setup and had to redo it. But overall I’m happy. I still don’t see the skimmer performing as expected . Likely due to my inexperience. I think the new water level adjusted skimmer will be very useful. But unsure if I should go for that or Refugium. We’ll see ..
that’s all for today, that you for tuning in

Did another 10g of water change today. And NaOH injection on the aiptasia population . Couple of them are left, but bulk of them are gone . Will do another round by next week .

I intend to frag it soon. Can’t have this one shading rest all

myagi tort , though as not blue as I was hoping for , has grown relatively well

Long due update , tank is humming along without any new major hiccups . Fts
IMG_1396.jpeg

sps are all slowly growing out
IMG_1398.jpeg

Purple stylo is touching myagi tort , thinking if I should frag or let it play out
IMG_1397.jpeg

these frags are also healed now .., have to move these to other tanks
IMG_1399.jpeg

Alveopora , one of the most showy coral in the tank
IMG_1400.jpeg

Love these Palys ., they look like drooping over from the rocks
IMG_1402.jpeg

pink Goni , front view
IMG_1401.jpeg

and from the side
IMG_1405.jpeg

one of my worms, it has survived almost a year now , really like the coloration
IMG_1404.jpeg

thinking of next steps for this tank, it’s pretty stable , don’t Want any drastic changes. I’m annoyed by the gurgling sound of the return , that’s some thing I am considering to fix .. more on that later IMG_1397.jpeg IMG_1398.jpeg IMG_1399.jpeg IMG_1400.jpeg IMG_1402.jpeg IMG_1401.jpeg IMG_1405.jpeg IMG_1403.jpeg IMG_1404.jpeg IMG_1396.jpeg

Long due update. Had some significant ups and downs in personal life , tank took a hit. My alk and few other parameters went south, but the thanks to the controller and long term corals overall it’s not in the worst form. I’m slowly working to get things back under control.

Here is the current fts after todays glass cleaning ,

IMG_3436.jpeg

Sps are doing ok overall. Millipora has grown significantly and I don’t know what I’ll do long term,

IMG_3455.jpeg

IMG_3456.jpeg

I have already trimmed it multiple times, it’s more like a stump bow :) . Green slimer is growing but not as aggressively as the milli(location ? ) , and the strawberry shortcake is also doing good

IMG_3454.jpeg

IMG_3452.jpeg

IMG_3445.jpeg

Some other acros like this yellow one and couple of others( don’t recall their names) are slowly growing . There was a prolonged Alk swing, that stunted growth but didn’t kill anything,

Fungi’s and other lps /softies are growing as usual

I have monti eating nudi branch and it’s slowly nuking the forest fire and orange digi, I’m ok with it. Taking it out require significant work and risk and I can use the real estate for something else
IMG_3438.jpeg

The alveopora took the worst hit in terms of health, I don’t know if it’s the Alk swing or the blue leptastrea that is bothering him. I suspect the second . We’ll see , i think I’ll relocate him,
IMG_3460.jpeg

Coco worm ,, almost 2 years
IMG_3465.jpeg

And my grandis colony, almost 8 years old
IMG_3439.jpeg

That’s all for tonight. Hopefully I’ll be able to post updates more frequently . Thanksgiving is coming soon and I want to get some features out for reef-pi, but we’ll bring of these corals always takes precedence

Thank you for reading through , have a great day
