I am not sure how to go about that really, and I am terrified to take money for anything as I don't want the study to owe anyone. I really want to expose as many lights as we can by selling studied lights and then buying new lights to test.
List them on ebay and have them listed as "As Is" with no returns. If they are described well ebay's seller protection will have you covered.

I think that would be the best way but we need to see about forum rules about buying and selling. I need to hear some more ideas as the best way to sell them.

You are essentially selling used products so you should be able to list them in the Equipment for sale section and maybe link them to this thread. Might have to check with the Mods for the link.

Okay was a big work day today and got 2 lights done- Mars Aqua and the 70w ASMl-02 from Aquarium System Solution
The Mars aqua shows why it needs some type of diffuser

This little ASML-02 pendant really shocked me-

Wow, this ASML-02 spanked that Kessil, which I would have thought would have been the benchmark for COB lighting. I like this little Chinese guy, haha. I have a seneye too, so I'm familiar with the charts it projects. Is there any chance you might have the spectrum charts of this ASML-02? If not, I'll live. I'm just excited to see these low budget runners meeting and out-performing the big name guys. Wow! I am eager to see the numbers of the bigger one Aquarium Solutions Systems makes too, the ASML-03 and if that can really give as good a numbers as this ASML-02 but with the bigger coverage as they brag. If this thing can do the 100x110 cm like it says without much of a drop in PAR at the outer edges like this ASML-02 can, then I'll be really impressed and putting in an order. Again, your testing of these lights is HUGELY appreciated!!!

I will put up the charts after I grab them from the testing pc. Give me a day or so.

Great thread! Would three ASML-02's cover a 72x24x24 tank? Looking forward to the test on the 03s.

It really depends on what you have in the tank and how far on the outer edges you have coral. I'd think 3 would be sufficient for most set ups with exception to heavily stocked SPS all the way to the edges. Then you'd probably want to consider 4.

I was told that lights could not be sold here only in the marketplace. We will obey the rules and maybe post them for sale in the marketplace or somewhere else away from R2R, I'll decide in the next few days on what to do.
In the meantime we will have to wait and get some more lights to test after the Chinese holiday Jan 26 till Feb 18th.
Ledzeal contacted me back,

I have the Pixie 150 from Lumini that I will take down to the shop next week and get numbers on it.

I understand that sales need to be in the marketplace but is there anything stopping you linking the sales threads either in the first post or in your signature?

Not sure if they even allow that and I don't want to press my luck, I bet more than a few people out there would like this thread to go away.
On a bright note I did find a new light we need to test-

I have a feeling this information is going to cause some better competition in the world of reef lighting. Providing data that shows that sub $200 lights can keep up with $700-800 lights. It’s a fact that has been known because of personal experience from people but now there is hard data to back it up.

This information needs to reach the right people and needs to be pushed out there to help facilitate change.

Now if we could get some in tank pumps like the gyre or the vortec pumps that didn’t cost $300 bucks.........

That being said we as reefers are responsible for the markups that exist because we choose to pay that markup. And while for people that have a high amount of disposable income this doesn’t matter, those that don’t suffer because of this. There should always be an affordable option that performs well. It helps keep prices in check and fuels innovation through competition.

There will always be people that will buy the so called top of line best “brand” available regardless. Cost is a limiting factor in this hobby and keeps a lot of people out of our hobby. I know when I was first interested many years ago the cost of lighting alone kept me from setting up a tank. Now that there are more affordable options I am enjoying reefing.

@Manose you doing this could be responsible for bringing many people into this hobby I hope you know that.

That is most unfortunate. One cool thing about Ledzeal is their willingness to work with the customer and swap out LEDs to customer specifications.

That's unfortunate about Ledzeal. A nice option they offer the customer is to switch out LEDs to match what the customer wants in their light.
