Hey Reefers! This build is going to showcase parts of an existing ROTM tank moved into an Eshopps Mariner M130.

The Mariner M130 was chosen based on footprint size, structure durability, quality, and cost. Normally I wouldn’t consider a rimless tank, but the build quality of the Mariner makes it too tempting to pass up. I’ve seen these tanks in person, and was impressed! If cleaning the glass becomes an issue with water splashes, a solution will be created to mitigate that.

This tank will use the existing equipment from the previous one, with some additional wavemakers as required. The same Kessil lighting on a Reefbrite fixture will be used to illuminate the tank, and provide the proper spectrum and intensity for the coral.

The same fish (and some of the coral) will be transferred to the new tank, and other species will be added as well. This new build will be a mixed tank with a sand substrate for fish and invertebrates to burrow in.

The coral for the tank will include various softies, LPS, SPS, anemones, and other invertebrates compatible with the fish in the tank. The centerpiece is going to be a large Elegance coral, which has been grown from a frag to a beautiful colony sized specimen.

Photos will be added throughout this build thread, and care articles will be created. A full product review of the tank itself will also be made on R2R and YT.

The tank has been ordered, and planning has begun! This is the culmination of a dream that started many years ago, and that journey continues here! 🙂

I already started removing some of the coral from the old tank. I really hope a piece of the WD Tenuis makes it into this new tank, this is my favorite acro. These are in the sps frag tank for now. 🤞🏻

Still waiting on shipping info from @ESHOPPS.INC . I assume this takes a few weeks to months? Ordered on 7-20-26.

No word on the tank yet, but look what came in today! I’m impressed! This pukani rock is very light and covers a lot of space! I think this rock combined with a few from the 75 gallon will work nicely!

Are you planning to use bleach/water on the Pukani or just soak it in water?
I’m going to pick out the chunks and use it as is, no pre curing.

Following. Had my M130 within 10 days.
Thanks. I’m not in a hurry, just would like to know it’s coming. Kinda weird almost 2 weeks and no communication from them to the retailer. Especially since the card was charged.

Just got word the tank is packed up and awaiting pickup by the freight hauler! Now I have a tank to tear down and move over! Wish me luck!

I got a surprise phone call that the tank was on the way! Lol! Luckily I was nearby to receive it. Time to take down and move the 75 gallon sps tank!
