Thanks, it's eerie how silent my 120 is now with this overflow a vectra and mp40qd. Also your heater mounts are so dang pimp!!!!!!

Thanks! These overflows make a night and day difference in how quiet a tank can be! Thanks for the support and happy to hear the sump and heater holders are working for you!

I'm curious what everyone is doing for their return plumbing? Running 1.5" pipe or reducing to 1"

Just finished plumbing on my 130. Vectra L1 for return as well as reactors and uv. The return is 1" all the way up. I'm planning on getting at least 1300 gph. The drain is reduced to 1/4 to fit my sump.

It depends on your flow. But the 1.5" is going to be even quieter at low flow volumes. So if you don't have to reduce don't have to reduce down, don't. This is why we provide 1.5" drains on all of our standard sump lines.

Sorry. Meant overflow plumbing. Not return. Are y'all keeping the 1.5 overflow or reducing to 1"
I reduced mine to 1 1/4 only becuase the my sump has those fittings for the drain. Mixxer did mention that the drain would still be able to handle 1500 gph even if it is reduced to 1'.

how far up does the water raise on the teeth of the weir when you max out at 1500 GPH?

It will rise about halfway up the teeth. We have ran over 3500 - 4000 gph thru these during testing before the water was all the way at the top of the teeth.

Trying to determine if i want the returns tucked tight to the overflow for a cleaner look or out wide? Thoughts?

Think about the scum that collects on the top of the water, you want the overflow to skim that stuff out. if the returns are wide, the current will always be moving that oil slick towards the overflow, if they are narrow you will always be pushing that slick away from the overflow.

Interesting thought. I have mine close to my overflow to keep good flow in the middle of the tank. Im not really worried about the lack of scum collection because there is a full siphon drain that's acts as a vacuum and anything in the center of the tank should not be getting away. Hopefully to is effective but Time will tell
