The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Those are two stunning wrasses. My Exquisitus has yet to colour up fully but I’m hoping it looks like yours eventually.

That splendens looks lonely, I think you need another 3 Pencils ;)
I have an open order out for a severnsi first chance I get.

But for now, I have a P. angulatus on the way (and a Siganus unimaculatus) and two more on the list after a bit of time for the CBB and FF to settle: C. rhomboidalis (female) and P. cyaneus.

After that I'll see how everyone's doing. The count would then be: 2 fairies, 2 flashers, 1-2 pencils, 1 Halichoeres, 1 Macropharyngodon, 2 pinkies and a CBB and FF. Not too bad for a 4ft 83gal!

Anyone have a Halichoeres and truble with nassarius snails? I used to have 20+ now have zero. Thought something was off in the tank and kept adding more with longer acclimation. Until I saw the babi dive into and out of the sand making a huge cloud.

No, but I now have zero nerites. I nust added 6 new Nassarius vibex and a tongan this week, so I'll try to keep track of them.

How long have you had the elegance and bubble? Is the elegance an aussie? Look forward to see both grow out. Especially the bubble.
Just a couple of weeks, but both the elegance and the bubble were well established, not fresh out of collection. The bubble was a fresh cut from a large mother colony, though. Not as colorful under my whiter spectrum, but I like the whites, because the wrasses look way better.

Here's a good one for y'all to ID. I know what it is, but not too common, so should hopefully be at least a bit of a challenge ;)

Picked it up today, gonna grow it out until it's big enough to avoid being eaten by the fimbriated moray, then it'll move over to my 240 gallon. Pics taken in the LFS tank.

No fair. I need clearer pictures.
It is either a Pseudocheilinus octotaenia or a Paracheilinus octotaenia. I think it is an immature Paracheilinus
Nope. This one's got a beak and gets MUCH larger.

Did you get the bellus too?

Nah, not on my potential stocklist. I prefer Pomacanthus, Pygoplites, and Centropyge.

Currently have a large Pomacanthus maculosus in my 240g. My 100g has a large Pomacanthus paru, a Centropyge loricula, a Centropyge bicolor, a Centropyge bispinosa, a Centropyge ferrugata, and a Centropyge flavissima x vroliki hybrid. 100g is a growout for some fish for the 240, and for the smaller peaceful stuff like dwarf angels, fairies, anthias that'll get eaten in the 240g. I want to upgrade it to the 180g sitting empty in my garage by next winter. Still plan on adding a blueface (Pomacanthus xanthometopon) and a regal (Pygoplites diacanthus). Wouldn't mind a multibar (Centropyge multifasciata) either.

It looks very similar to the Pseudodax mollucanus so I’m assuming it’s from a genus related quite closely to that.
I’m also under the assumption it’s juvenile colouration and not adult yet, maybe in that mid-phase.

Oh wow, that fish is stunning as an adult! Demeanor?

Nope. Technically it's not truly a wrasse, but closely related.

The species is Scarus niger, the Dusky or Swarthy Parrot.

Is anyone able to ID this fish? I'm told it's a wrasse and sleeps in the sand. I'll try and get clearer pictures but this is what I have right now.

Halichoeres radiatus. Gonna be a big boy, and definitely not motile invert friendly as it gets larger. One of the biggest Halichoeres
