Got a male Isoceles from my LFS yesterday. I've been leaning on a male flame for a while, but the vibrant color contrasts on this fish made me change my plans.

Maybe because ive never seen one in person, but these bad boys are beautiful.

How much did you pay for her? I am looking to get one and may go the female route and let her turn into a male.

For those of you with diamond tails. When did you start to notice yours getting darker?
It is an artifact of bright lighting, so if you keep them dimly lit it won't happen.
However, once exposed to bright lights, it only takes a couple months for them to darken up.
I have heard some say it is a UV exposure issue, but that cannot be correct as it will happen even under LEDs without any UV. It still could be spectrum related though, but is universal to bright lighting.

Good to know. Ive had mine for about 3 weeks and I think I can already notice him darkening up a bit. Tank is lit by halides. Was just curious of the time frame people have experienced this happening.

I wouldnt say not as vibrant. His "back" just is darker thats all. Still a great looking fish! I might try and find him a new home though. Just found out I may be moving soon and dont want to risk him in the move.

Mine also started turning dark quickly. Probably a month or two. By the time he was a year or more in the tank he was almost completely black on the top half of his body.

To be honest Makes you think about adding on to SPS tank if they darken up.

Ok. I really didn’t like wrasses when I first started. Didn’t think I liked the look of any of them.
However, I just got these babies tonight!!! I’m so so excited!! Any advice for QT is welcome. Hoping to do mostly observation. They have a 9x13 glass dish of sand!! That should keep them happy until they get to the main tank!!

I was so excited to post here!!
