I don't know if this happens to any of you guys, but my six line wrasse always loves to go through my overflow box, all over my drain pipes and through my filter socks all the way down to the sump.. jumping all the sections of my sump and finishing on my return pump section... waiting for me to take him back to the display to do this again and again... I don't know how he is possibly capable of doing that marathon, but every time I don't see him in my display I know where to find him.

Flashers of different species work fine together, sans the eightline in smaller systems.

How small a system for 8 line would you recommend?

They dive for the sand. Look and see where and get himefrom there. I only keep them once and my memory did not think it was hard to remove.

I personally wouldn't put one in a tank smaller than a 75. Behavior is more like a Cirrhilabrus than a Paracheilinus.
Once you get a 125 and up, they're fine with most everything.

Pseudocheilinus do not bury.

Thanks Hunter. What level on the Cirrhilabrus scale? I am aware every fish is different and there are exceptions but are we talking aggressive on scale or more like middle of the road? It would be going in with a few mello young Cirrhilabrus (Rhombodalis, Linneatus, Johnsoni, Brunneus, Isosceles etc) and a couple Paracheilinus (Attenuate being one).

My memory played trick on me. 20+ years ago I keep 2 wrasses with bad experiences and did not keep them again.
H chrysus was remove for really goes after one of my clams that he have been with for over 1 year
and a pair of P hexataenia for killed my Mandarin by peck her eyes out. Now with Hunter's correction above, it must be the H. chrysus that was in the sand and P. hexataenia was trapped and remove. My aquarium was a 450 gal tank so it is difficult to remove fish from unless I can trap them.

Mild-to-medium on aggression; just a tick above the typical timid Paracheilinus.
Should be fine in that mix.

Has anyone had problems with H. biocellatus being aggressive? Mine has pestered all of my fairy wrasses except for my Labout's which is about his size.

He doesnt mess with my H. Melasmapomas or M. geoffroyi.

He was fine for months but the last few weeks he's getting worse and worse.

I've only ever had them be aggressive to smaller H. chrysus, and even that wasn't bad.

Thanks TJ, I knew they were usually pretty mild manered. Individual variance is a pain. Lol. I'm trapping him this weekend, my female jordani won't leave the left two feet of the tank due to his aggression!
