Hi everyone. I currently have a exquisite and yellow flank wrasse in my 90g. I have a yellow-purple wrasse and carpenter wrasse in my 37g. Im in process of setting up a 135 gallon that all these will go into.

-There is golden rhomboids available close to me
-id like a radiant wrasse at some point
-id also like another wrasse at some point but not sure which one (ornate, christmas, melanarus, or something similar)

Thoughts on this list?

Ive read that pairs of wrasse dont work. There is male and female rhomboids available. If i get 3 females will it eventually work out as a "harem" or will more then one change to male

I would not recommend getting 3 rhomboids, it's pretty likely they all would eventually end up male. Far better to get males (or females if you want to save money) of 3 different species. Makes for a more diverse and peaceful tank.

Which "Christmas" wrasse? There are several that go by that name and they range from very peaceful to pretty darn onery. There are also more than one ornate wrasse and one of them H. ornatissimus also goes by Christmas wrasse.

Im not sure which if any of those. I just mentioned those because of the marking and and colors . Maby a halichores in general is what i meant. Will be something similar to those but obviously i will make sure its something that will be okay with rest of wrasse and non wrassse. Any specific ones you would recomend to fit this list but also have similar marking and colors.

You already have one Halichoeres (your yellow/purple wrasse). It really depends on your tastes. I really like H. claudia. Mine was very peaceful and very pretty. H. iridis is a small, peaceful and beautiful Halichoeres though it's markings are not like the "Christmas wrasses" at all.

Yes i was aware for the yellow/purple and radiant being halichores. I like the h. Claudia, something similar to that is what im going for.

ok just got a pair of of flame wrasses, is it ok to put them together with a rosey scale and a lubocks?

I’d say no. Both are in the Lanceolatus complex. I’d say either is ok with the Lubock but not the Flame with the Roses Scale

What size tank? Also, wrasse prs generally don't work out longterm.

Hi people. Does anyone have a diagnosis on this poor guy?

He is new. He completed 10 days of tank transfer, with prazi and metro, on Wednesday. He ate well during QT and seemed fine during the whole process, although the transfer containers and acclimation box are small and he didn't have a lot of space to swim. He went into an acclimation box in my display until I released him on Friday evening.

At first I thought he became unfit due to the smaller confines and little flow for almost 2 weeks, so didn't think much of it as I've seen other wrasses take a day to swim more energetically once in the tank. After two days I'm however getting worried, as it seems to be hindering his feeding.

Any ideas? Spinal injury or swim bladder problem perhaps? Any suggestions?

The first video was taken this evening. The next was yesterday morning, so show the progression of the problem.

well everyone seems to be getting along well, rosey started hanging out with female wrasse and were laying on the sand together but everything is back to normal, will monitor and report

Wrasse laying on a sand bed is not typical ime. If they are not active you should start a thread in fish forum. After adding new fiah, there could be some acclimation needed.

Have you considered a Melanuras? I’m not necessarily recommending one. I have one. His behavior was great. I haven’t seen him in three weeks.

Jury is still out however I may be a wrasse convert. Picked up an exquisite wrasse last week and am really digging this guy.
