The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I wish I could see the jade in person. Looks like a stunner. Wish my radiant was younger like yours. Mine has been full grown 1.5 - 2 years. He is a think boy.
Due to green being a rarer colour in fish It’s funny when people see him, they first look at the CBB and Radiant and when the Jade appears they will instantly ask about him.
My only issue is how when he swims “upright” in a cave to get food, I often mistake him for actual sea grass.

As for aggression, it seems to have calmed down a ton now as none of the wrasses want to challenge him. I have a feeling the aggression people often mention is due to the Jade being in with other wrasses that want to challenge it for its spot.

Also got a few photos of the two Lubbock’s (My Melanomargiantus hates the phone so I can’t get any decent photos of him with his dorsal and anal fin up).

My radiant was 3.5 inches last time I checked, wonder if he’ll get to 4 inches because I’d love that. My LFS had a proper juvenile radiant last week, I was shocked at the size she was because I bought mine at that exact same size 2 years ago. You never realise how fast they grow until you see a juvenile of the same species that came in at a similar size or the same size as yours did.

My head is blown away. Added flame and rhomboid back to my display and flame and Hemi started fighting again. Flame stayed up after lights out chasing sleeping wrasse from the rocks. This fish is sick in the head.
Amazing he can’t be chill in 220 gallons

Wow, it sounds similar to aggression that the Scottorum complex are known for!

I find it ironic, my Melanomarginatus is the most peaceful wrasse I have ever owned and your flame is a nightmare!

If he doesn’t have fairy’s or flashers he goes for sand sleepers. Guess some are just fighters

Look at this little girls beer belly. She wants to party with the big boys

Both of them are beautiful!
Wish I picked up the trio of them when I had the chance instead of a jade.

officially have my first wrasse...nothing super special, but i noticed her in petco one day when i went in to get food and luckily she was still there a week later. MUCH happier looking in my QT and is becoming good friends with the longnose hawk. no signs of anything more than stress and is eating mysis well, but will get the full treatment anyway and will be going in my 220 once filled.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe its c. bathyphilus.

Hey Reefers....great photos!!
I finally added my 2 lineatus wrasses to my DT after about a month of QT and acclimation. I was worried a bit given the amount of wrasses I already have (2 pintail, 1 mellanurus, 2 sixline, 2 leopards). No complaints, loving my community right now.

And now for what you’ve all been waiting for :)
A sneak peak, I hope that he doesn’t hide instantly when in the tank but knowing this species, he probably will.

Caught the Naoko’s flashing but this is the best photo I got of the fin display.

And look at this beefy girl! I have never seen a bigger Leopard Wrasse than this girl.

Pink streak? Kind of hard to tell with it hiding under that frag plug.

Yeah!
I couldn’t resist when I went and heard they had 2 of them with 1 being reserved. Jumped on it instantly haha.
Here she is, she seems to have black spots on her which are definitely part of her pattern but my other didn’t have black spots so I assume the juveniles have black spots in them and as they grow they vanish.

Also picked up a stunning acropora and seriatopora. Hoping she hides in the Acro when it grows. Photos don’t do it justice as it has bright blue tips.

Another tell tale sign this is a juvenile is she is barely half the size of my leopard!
I really got a steal with this pink streak. Now just to give her a name as I already know I’ll get attached to her quickly.

I’m jealous you have 2 lineatus and I’m having a hard time getting one.

Good luck with the six lines, hope they don’t turn on you.
As for the two lineatus wrasses they’re stunning! Hopefully they coexist long term too :)
