Thought he would hit the sand immediately. He’s just cruising the middle of the tank and eating mysis. Chrysus is steering clear. The other fish don’t know what to think.

A 6 month follow-up on the lennardi. Here was my original post from early December.

She has grown fast! Originally about 1.5" can see the size compared to the Potter's that is a little over 4" outside the acclimation box. The lennardi is now is about 3-4" in length. Has been a model citizen.

I dropped the system temperature and it's 75-76 most of the time, but occasionally bumps up a little warmer.

Such a magnificent wrasse!! One of the prettiest definitely!

You need one @i cant think! It fits your color scheme. You could call it Greggs, Pokémon, ….

I’d love a lennardi or femininus but my current gang just doesn’t suit their needs, maybe when I have to get rid of my chloropterus (If he ever turns nasty).

Just having to wait for them to do their rounds, of course when I want an ausie endemic they don’t get imports from Australia.

Just went into my lfs to pic up my bimacs. He said that all fish orders in Los Angeles are down 50%. Tax time is hitting everyone.

I was told to use an acclimation box many, many years ago. Specially When introducing new wrasses to an already established gang.

It has always worked out for me. You can tell nearly right away if any of the established gang is going to be a jerk. They will start attacking the box. If they leave it alone, and are not bothered by the box, the introduced fish 99.9% of the time will be fine.

Approximately how long have you been keeping the new comer in the box? I’ve got a juvenile melanurus in the box (with 2” of sand) now 1.5 days, it‘s starting to settle in and eating. As far as the display tank goes, only one other wrasse a mature (I’ve had it 7 years) yellow coris. Other fish are a yellow eyed kole tang, flame hawk and two egg laying clownfish.

Usually 2 or 3 days, it depends on whether I see any aggression from my current residents.

Sexy Shrimp are gone with any wrasse (Halichoeres, Macro, Cirrhilabrus sometimes, Pseudojuloides, Xenojulis, Pseudocheilinops, Wetmorella). Spaghetti worms get left alone most of the time - I had my blue star in with 2-3 Spaghetti worms and she left them alone.
Halichoeres iridis is a good choice as these guys do pest hunting but they don’t seem to hunt as many wanted inverts as some of the others do.

None of my macropharyngodon bipartitus never touched my sexy shrimp until i fished it out because i was adding a long nose hawk

None of them touch my wanted inverts (Harlequin Serpent Star, Cleaner Shrimp, Fire Shrimp, Milk Spotted Cowrie, Sally Light Foot Crab, Pistol Shrimp, Many different species of Snails). The only invert I’ve ever lost was a Tiger Pistol Shrimp because when I introduced him to the tank he didn’t go into the rocks with his YWG and hung outside for a while. I haven’t seen a body at all but I haven’t seen sheds either and I’m unsure Ive heard him since adding him (November-ish).
