The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

A TRIO?! I only dream of one! They look beautiful though, wonder if two have paired off or will stay as a trio?
I can’t wait to see what happens. A bunch started in qt together but less aggressive ones started to hide and wasn’t getting enough food so acrylic dividers was put up. This may not work but we will try. So far the large and medium been together but still stressed.

Been wanting a few leopards and figured choats were the best chance as they are more laid back

I mean, you have many other leopards so your chances are probably a lot better at success. Also whilst we’re on the topic of leopards, I couldn’t not take the chance and got some beautiful photos!

Her colours are very vibrant, Thankyou! Here’s my favourite photo (Really looks like a camera got brought out)

Bathyphilus is slightly less camera shy, and Brunneus is coming out more still camera shy tho. Got a couple ok pictures of it

Not much to see here move along lol

Got home from work and tiny is out! Large ate good, medium spot out what it ate and tiny ate a few bites. Only large show interest in food. They been picking pods and have fresh live brine
They are separating and giving each other nudges but no cares as of now. This may work!
Everyone meet tiny

Also, I keep coming across this one wrasse. It’s beautiful but they’re said to get huge (Even for an Anampses). Anampses geographicus, has anyone ever owned this species if so, what was it like?

I had to look it up, I have never seen one before. Very beautiful.....and very big. Up to a foot in length!

I’m hoping to come across a healthy one in the future, maybe a trio or pair. We’ll see though. How big are the three of them?

if you guys had to choose one wrasse to be in your tank what would it be?
Would we have to own it currently? If not then mine would be:
Anampses chrysocephalus (I hold a grudge on Hawaii.)
If we do have to own it currently, mine would be:
Macropharyngodon bipartitus. Macropharyngodon can be so bold towards you, especially when they start out in a small tank and get used to you.

Hands down an anampses femininus, better known as a Blue stripe Tamarin wrasse. I saw one a few years ago, just before covid hit and was in love, until I saw the price. Ill buy a Gem Tang first, lol.

Obviously not my photo.

Way to many to choose from, don't think I could do just one.
If it was one wrasse, that was my choice, lol. If money and tank dimensions was no object. I'd find a way to go broke. I literally went from one wrasse to 6 in the past 5 weeks after falling into this monster of a thread!

Actually, I’ll change the top one to Anampses geographicus. Purely because it’s unusual and the Hawaiian ban stops me from getting the dream wrasse of Anampses chyrsocephalus.
Here’s the geographic tamarin

Let’s hope trio gets along. They are nudging each other but they don’t seem to mind.
Approximate sizes
Large is about 3.5”
Medium about 2.5”
Tiny no more then 2”

Wow I'm certainly jelous.

Nice trio of chaoti's!
Thanks. A long road before I say it’s a success

Potters and Vivien’s are my top two
