He could stand it, but it's eating and in my 50g living the life with the mandarin. Pods galore. Thanks for the ident, couldn't beat the 20 bucks for it.
He'll fatten up in no time. Wow $20 is a steal. Great find.

Importer had two of them, this one was eating already and the other came in this morning.

The guy I deal with does maintenance first and sales second, direct importer from the ring of fire mainly. He's not open to the public and you have to catch him at the most random times. I've bought fish at 6 a.m., I've bought fish @ midnight, lol.

It's funny, my guy usually rattles off a price without thinking. He had a watanabe angel and rattled off 70$ to another regular who stopped in, I never seen cash exchanged so quick, lol (I was too dense to realize the deal) Then I check prices, it was literally half of retail from another LFS near by.

+1 to a juvenile argus, these guys seem to be coming in much more often. This is the second ID I’ve seen of one this week as well as the fifth I’ve seen for sale just this week. Been on my wishlist for a while after seeing my first one a few years ago, if only I had the tank for one.

I would like a little advice from the wrasse lovers. I have a 125 FOWLR stocked with butterflies and mellow angels (Regal and Majestic). What would be a good wrasse to mix in with my current fish? How about a Red Sea 8 line or Pintail? Thanks for the help.

Thoughts on captive bred cleaner wrasse raised on frozen?
I saw that Biota had them available again. Much better option than wild caught.

You could get both the 8 line flasher and the pintail.

+1 to doing both, most of not all Cirrhilabrus and Paracheilinus will fit in your tank and not be bad with the fish you have.
I would personally do;
- Cirrhilabrus naokaoe
- Cirrhilabrus isosceles
- Paracheilinus octotaenia
- Paracheilinus attenuatus

In a fowlr I would go with a mystery wrasse. Reminds me of the misbar mystery reefpro had. Looked like lightning on the sides.

Got a new addition today from LFS My Choat's. adapting well and eating as well
Well, this solves what I want when my current leopard passes. Guess I’m skipping the middle leopard (Negrosensis was the plan) and going straight for the dream wrasse.
I mean my 3’x16” was a tank where I want my absolute dream fish and it seems all of the ones ontop were wrasses.
So my longterm plan is;
- Pseudocheilinops ataenia trio
- Wetmorella tanakai pair
- Macropharyngodon choati
- A shrimp goby species

and that’ll most likely be the list. The rest will probably be inverts and coral.

@SaltyT how does this sound?
I plan to start hunting a choati in February/March. I already dose weekly pods and always have (Even on my 4’ tank I still do this).
As you probably know I’m loaded with food of almost every type I can get (Every month I rotate what frozen foods I get from the LFS). My LFS I would get a Choati from is one I trust with every fish I get (I got my Pink streaks from them as well as my flasher). They never sell a diseased fish and all the fish I get from them eat everything and anything.

Still pretty new to reefing.
65 water box aio. About 18 months old
Have a fairy wrasse (had a blue throat but faded over last year) a blue cleaner and a small 6 line wrasse. Was thinking about adding a yellow coris. Am I asking for trouble.
current other fish are a gold spot rabbit and my original pair of clowns. Everyone has been getting along

I’d be cautious with that Sixline. With them you’re playing with fire. Some are nice but many more are nasty. And if you see the good reports on sixlines, they’re often from the same people.

Which tank are you thinking of putting it in? If it ends up being a smaller female you could try to add it to the 3' for now to let it get acclimated to captivity. Just keep an eye out for stress choati's can pace when they're in smaller tanks. If it does start to pace increasing the flow may help, but your pinkie's may not like that.

Nice list I wasn't planning on getting Chaoti, blindly walk into my store there he was. Perfect size form and was out and not hiding. Plus Managers was tell me he was eating. Plus prices was right.... Great fish, except mine on a different time zone goes to bed early evening around 5pm my time. Lights are one for at least 3 more hours.... Also there is no issue with my Blue Star and Choati.

The pinks actually seem to love more elevated flow. I have them in relatively high flow currently (My Blue Star prefers the elevated flow over the low flow and so do my SPS). My aim is to try get a younger specimen of Choati so it’ll be more likely that I’ll start one out in the 3’.

I’ve also tried to have it where a Choati would be the only relatively active fish in the tank to try give more room for swim space.
