The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Another question: what is used for a screen/cover for the tank and where do I find one? Old tank was acrylic with smaer openings that were easy to cover. New tank is glass and wide open.
Most of us make our own. BRS has DIY options for rimmed and rimless tanks.

Well I've got a new fish. It was eating aggressively and on sale. Hopefully will reach its full potential:

The quality of fish imports in England seems to be better than the quality we get here in the US. I think that's why QT is so big here.
That may be right - we also only have one Main distributor of fish which has a turn over time of around 2 days so the fish we get in are essentially put straight into the LFSs and for sale.
Very few seem to come in unhealthy (even the mandarins and other constant pod eaters come in incredibly fat).

That’s a stunning transitional isosceles, hopefully it will reach full potential.

Well it's supposed to be a lunatus haha. I was struggling to pick between it and a rubeus but decided to go for the more peaceful for now at least.

That’s interesting - It may just be the photo but Im sure I see more isosceles than lunatus.

I honestly don't know how you two are so good at identifying them. They all look pretty similar to me without the fins displaying. You certainly know your stuff even if one of you is wrong haha.

I got it for 65$ which I was told was a good deal. Looking online it now seems like a fantastic deal?

or a bigger screen! Phone screens are terrible for IDs
Honestly, you’re not wrong!
The Phone is how I mess up many IDs unless I zoom in, it’s a pain how similar some wrasses are as females but looking at it with glasses on (yes I do actually need glasses haha) I can tell it’s lunatus.

I'm thinking of trying for both a C. lineatus and rhomboidalis in my 100 gallon. I know the lineatus is usually more aggressive. Would y'all suggest adding the Golden Rhomboid first, or can I add them both at the same time? Then as far as gender, maybe get them both as females, or the Rhomboid as a male and lineatus as female? I know there's no guarantees with temperaments

Getting both as females/juveniles and adding both at the same time will be the best in terms of aggression.

Well that’s wonderful! I cut out the lunatus from my list and now I‘ll get to see it from you. Win win situation for me lol. How big is she?

Looks good at the moment I think. The cleaner being weird as always but otherwise no issues.

Always nervous with a new addition.

Which thread is this one from? It’s not the Eelsyum right? It doesn’t look like it.

Nope. That's my eel tank.

It's the one I haven't updated in far too long. It's changed completely since last I updated. It either needs a lot of updating or a fresh restart. Ill let you know when its viewable.

The cleaner wrasse is just saying "you're new so I must clean you" :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Sorry. I have to edit. This post pertain to a question somebody asked me about my Paracheilinus attenuatus pair.

That is my pair. Started out just slight larger and smaller at about just 1.25 to 1.5 inches. One become male and the other stays as female.
The third picture show both of them, with the female full of eggs, while the first picture show the male as a baby. Notice the 10th dorsal spike started to elongate in that first picture.

1st, 2nd, 8th & 9th are rather hard to get hold of but the others are easier to get hold of.
