That picture is a totally different wrasse… that’s Anampses geographicus

That explains a lot! Guess I'm giving them a call tomorrow. Ask them if they're really selling Geographicus!

The reality of captive hemitaeniatus is it’s either looking too light like this;

Or way too dark like this;

Every photo you see of them looks overly edited or theyre fresh from the ocean and are only going to live 2 years.

Which is why I think the best species African of Paracheilinus is between the Piscilineatus and the Attenuatus ;)
Last pic is close when they are just a fish but if something makes them excited nothing comes close. My flame and Hemi fights were brutal but the color was amazing
Among the reefs picture nails the potential of a Hemi bit takes huge tanks and the right tank mates. They don’t display much like others

Went to see my boy. Got dinner cooked and saw his new wrasse stock in a 300 gallon. @Tcook knows who and @LAReefer4Life is now learning. Tank has 30 wrasse so far.
Parrot was a ham begging me to feed him. I so want

Dang! How was the 150 tub? No doubt that food was good.

Man can cook! The tub is my favorite tank. All fish looked great and happy. Saw the hybrid and he looked real good! Had to check on that fish before shipping. To see one in person but mainly check on health and how it settled before shipping for peace of mind.

Has anyone had long term success with Quoyi? I've seen threads on here that had many failures and no success. I talked with my friend from the Georgia aquarium and they said they just fed there's a ton of coral.

I have. I want to get one lol. Those don’t eat rock and easier on coral. Comes down to supplying them with enough food. They are algae eaters and require lots. The size of them I’m sure they will break acro just from bumping them

Thanks. I have considered one but then read a lot of posts about issues.

I currently have 8 genera of wrasse and if things go to plan I'll be up to 10 or maybe even 11 soon.
Anampses
Cirrhilabrus
Coris
Halichoeres
Labroides
Macropharyngodon
Novaculichthys
Psuedocheilinops
Planned addition of a Thalassoma and a Paracheilinus.

I forgot to say @i cant think my expensive LFS has a Xenojulis but when asked they said "a lot" and considering their prices a lot means its way out of my price range.
