What's the hex grid on the edges of your tank?

Fluval Evo 13.5g AIO. Has a honeycomb "aesthetic" print on the outside of the glass. You can scrape it off, but I never bothered.

Found the second one!

And now she's out hunting baby brine shrimp.

This water is really bothering me how it's not clearing up. Wish I had gotten everything to set up this tank earlier and managed to get it running and clear. Hopefully these guy make it into my main tank.

Any recommendations on getting them out of the "landing pad" and into the acclimation box in the main tank? I figure they'll need 2 more days in here to get to 1.026sg. They started at 1.0225sg, and goal is 0.002 per day.

Sorry, back-to-back. The "sandbag" H. chrysus FINALLY figured out how to get out of her bag and they are both swimming together now. Can I keep them both!?!? Yeah, I know, bad idea...

They should do fine in that tank. As soon as some biofilm starts the sand will settle. If it were me I would observe those fish for at least 4 weeks before going to the DT. Also hit them with Prazi x 2

They should have already had Prazi from Dr. Reef since they are Pre-quarantined/medicated. Hope the sand settles soon. I think it was the Caribsea "live" sand with whatever else is mixed in it.

Ah. Didn't realize these were QT fish. Then I would give them a week to settle in and then move them to DT. I would not bother with acclimation box for sand sleepers. Drop them in the DT in the evening and they will dive into the bed. Then they can self-adjust to the other fish. I don't bother with boxes for sand sleepers. I think it is extra stress they don't need.

Making a DIY water clarifier is really easy. This is my method with just some Walmart filter floss, a gravel vac, and my water change pump.

What does everyone think of a Halichoeres chrysotaenia? I thought I was done with stocking… but I just can’t stop looking at wrasses! Wondering if it’s peaceful with other wrasses?

I’ve found them to be the same experience as a Melanurus personally.

Making a DIY water clarifier is really easy. This is my method with just some Walmart filter floss, a gravel vac, and my water change pump.

This is an effective method, used it plenty over the years. Another option I’ve used is simply putting a water pump inside of a filter sock inside the tank. The sock filters the water coming into and out of the pump and usually sees a significant improvement in a short amount of time.

Well I’ve got a new wrasse coming home today and… I found a gorgeous second wrasse. It’s safe to say I’m staying as a wrasse lover and not going towards angels haha.

Water cleared up and H. chrysus are out this morning! Don't see the M. bipartitis yet. There was a lot of sand movement yesterday after it buried itself. Is it a problem if a lot of sand settles over where it was buried?

Not at all. Give her a week. I found that the chrysus adjusts faster than any of my other wrasses.

The second is a close relative to another wrasse I’ve got (and I’ve had that wrasse with a close relative before). It also has gorgeous red/pink bars down it’s body.
