Might be due to the clowns. My pinkies are out all the time and come up to me, but when the clowns were in the tank it was a totally different environment. Not really looking to ellininate anything at the moment. I just like to keep a fish that will eat bugs and small flatworms if needed. I keep a sixline in my other tanks that are larger. I hadn't thought about a damsel. They have some springers at a lfs that have been there a long time and look healthy :thinking-face:
EDIT: My memory is bad :zany-face: I forgot I had a springers in there at first but pulled it when rescaped and its in the basement 40g now.
Had one and never saw it. Was in a 40g breeder with two baby clowns that stayed up top and the wrasse hid in a corner and never came out. I moved it into a tank all its own with no other fish and it hid in corner with a peppermint shrimp and I never saw it. I'm looking for a utilitarian fish but still would like to see it once in a while without having to search for it with a flashlight lol.
You could try a different lined wrasse like an 8-line or 4-line to keep it interesting! I think Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia is a great looking wrasse and might be fine in the 20gal.
