I'm going to give @i cant think and @Slocke a chance to guess first, but I think @Slocke probably already knows from following the recent try/fails of getting shipped QT'd wrasses. I got this one from a local reefing friend that QTs fish and corals.New wrasse day for JoJo!
What is (s)he?
I’m pretending it’s a jordani for a little while until reality shows upI'm going to give @i cant think and @Slocke a chance to guess first, but I think @Slocke probably already knows from following the recent try/fails of getting shipped QT'd wrasses. She's tiny but doesn't seem too shy!
New rule. I don’t ID female fairy or flasher wrasse. It’s too hard. I can’t do it :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:I'm going to give @i cant think and @Slocke a chance to guess first, but I think @Slocke probably already knows from following the recent try/fails of getting shipped QT'd wrasses. We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.New rule. I don’t ID female fairy or flasher wrasse. It’s too hard. I can’t do it :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
I have a more difficult one for you :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:New rule. I don’t ID female fairy or flasher wrasse. It’s too hard. I can’t do it :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
So, she’s clearly a Paracheilinus. My first guess would be from the mccosker’s complex, but the lining looks a bit off for a Mccoskeri or Carpenteri.
Claimed to be angulatus. Very tiny girl! Smaller than Mrs. Pink Streak! So, she’s clearly a Paracheilinus. My first guess would be from the mccosker’s complex, but the lining looks a bit off for a Mccoskeri or Carpenteri.
Maybe a Rubricaudalis female?
The tail is throwing me off though…
That’s why the tail threw me off!Claimed to be angulatus. Very tiny girl! Smaller than Mrs. Pink Streak!
It should work, however you’d want to use an acclimation box to be certain. Also, if your rock scape is filled with hiding holes and caves of all sizes you’ll be at an advantage as pinkies can get into caves that Wetmorella can’t even at their maximum size.Would I be able to add a pink streak wrasse with my yellow banded Possum? The Possum is like 3-4 years old at this point. 50G 30x24x16 tank.
My wrasses won't touch spaghetti worms. My Foxface has grabbed a couple and spit them into the water column but nothing in my tank will eat them.Hey wrasse lovers I need some assistance. I'm looking for a reef safe wrasse for pest control in a 20g long. Display is 24x12x13" and I do have sand deep enough to bury in. I know folks love their possum wrasse but TBH I've be less than happy with my yellow banded and pink streak so I'm not really interested in those. Mine just hung out behind the rock and I rarely even saw them. The pink streak had a tank to itself and still hung out behind the rock with a peppermint shrimp. My yellow stripe was the same but is now loving life in a 7ft tank where is can hunt all day long. I love my two sixlines (in sperate tanks) but im not sure if one would do well in a 20g since they like to hunt all day. It can be the only fish in the tank if needed. I'm looking for a fish for pest control which is why I love the sixlines but I'm not a fan of pushing the limits and cramming a fish in a tank too small for its needs.
The tank is small but has a decent amount of rock with places to swim through and under as well as room to swim behind the rocks. Its a young tank but started with all live rock and sand so it already has a pod population along with bristle and spaghetti worms. I'm not looking to rid the tank of worms just mentioning them so folks now its not a new tank with no life. TIA

What pests are you looking to rid? I've had good results with Acoel from my Springer's Damsels before I had any wrasses.
Now, with the melanurus, leucoxanthus, and Leopard I rarely see anything but I'm fairly certain they're all too large for your tank.
Had one and never saw it. Was in a 40g breeder with two baby clowns that stayed up top and the wrasse hid in a corner and never came out. I moved it into a tank all its own with no other fish and it hid in corner with a peppermint shrimp and I never saw it. I'm looking for a utilitarian fish but still would like to see it once in a while without having to search for it with a flashlight lol.Pink streak!
