Does anyone have a Temminckii? Are they peaceful with other Cirrhilabrus? Got any pics?

Hi, I saw on the facebook reef to reef a thread about a Halichoeres biocellatus. I was wondering if they would be ok to add to my tank at some stage. I have a black spot cleaner wrasse, a blue spotted leopard wrasse, a black tail tamarin wrasse, a mellanurus wrasse, a blue stripped dwarf parrot high fin, a Kole Eye tang, regal tang, one spot foxface, a starry blenny, a matted filefish & a copperband butterfly. Thanks, Di

What size tank? You should always use an acclimation box when adding new wrasses to a tank with existing wrasses. In which case, you should be okay; some potential aggression with the melanurus.

How about the Cirrhilabrus Melanomarginatus?
The most aggressive complex, right alongside scottorum. Often incompatible with other Cirrhilabrus.
Of interest: Cirrhilabrus Complexes: Inferiority Need Not Apply - REEFEDITION

If you just want something green, go with exquisitus.

M. kuiteri can be aggressive. I would not recommend keeping a M. choati (same complex and a much more delicate fish to keep) with one.

Mine wouldn't allow a tamarin wrasse even, she's pretty feisty with competition, no issue with F&Fs but any wrasse that hunts is a tough add for me.

Only one of the fish I ordered shipped. How ever it is one big fat black leopard. Can't wait till she's swimming around with my other leopards.

The tank's 64" x 30" x 24". Other wrasses I would like to add at some stage are naoko, labouti, lineatus & exquisite. Would they be ok?

Thanks, Di

Those species should work. There may be some aggression from some of them, but having a few fairy wrasses divides the attention/aggression of the dominant specimens. As mentioned before always use a social acclimation box when adding new wrasses to existing ones.

Great pictures of two incredible fish! Miss our choati but really happy to hear that yours is doing well!
Thank You! Ours has been in captivity for 17 months (6 with Kevin Kohen) and I am still nervous, checking on the little cutie first thing every day...

I am not surprised by this at all.

One of the leopards has started to show dominance but it seems to only happen when full lighting is on and especially during feeding times. They hang out when only the actinics are on and are buddy buddy again as when in QT. I am surprised there is more aggression between them in the DT.

Question for you wrasse lovers. If you needed one wrasse to help with flatworms what would you get. I know there are no guarantees. If your answer is a sixline what is number two? :) I should add it needs to be reef safe. Thanks!

A while a go I posted some photo's of two Geoffroy's I added to my Tank.
I unfortunatly after two days, one of them died.
The other is still doing very good at the moment. It is a very active and beautifull fish... :)

Last Saturday I got a phonecall that my LFS had a few small Geoffroys, so I rushed over and they looked very good! Swimming activly and already eating. So I took home two of these little beauty's.
They are currently in the frag tank to properly acclimate and so that I can keep a close eye on them.
Does any one of you know if it is possible to ad them to the main tank after a few weeks?
I've been told it is possible to keep three specimens, just wondering what your thoughts are.
Also would the differance in size matter? The new one are a lot smaller then the big one in the main tank.

Here some quick photo's of the new Geoffroy's :)
