The male Halichoeres leucoxanthus out of my trio is an absolute dick! If anyone goes near the tank he goes nuts at them, turning himself, flaring, and flicking around! Is it a territorial thing? Or does he naturally just want to fight everyone? My big H. timorensis puts him in his place sometimes, but I think he can't be arsed most of the time and just leaves him to it.

Also, don't think I posted a picture of my mccoskeri - absolutely love this fish!

A person being near the tank is a queue for food. During feeding is one of the times where asserting dominance is important, to assure they get the best portions.

Also, if it's a trio of leucoxanthus, then the females may be begining to transition to male which causes more conflict in the tank.

Either a Wetmorella species or Pseudocheilinops ataenia.

Thinking about adding a female Ornate wrasse to my 240. Currently have a male and female bipartitus and a female meleagris.
Do the ornates play well with others?
I still want to add a geoffroyi at some point too.

I've had ornates get aggressive, though having a handful of other leopards can diffuse the aggression.
