H. claudia is a much underappreciated wrasse! Worst trade I ever made. :(

I have a 125 tank, and currently have a Macropharyngodon ornatus in there, would it be ok to ad a Halichoeres claudia and a Halichoeres chrysotaenia?

Agree with Bruce completely on this.

thinking about adding a pair of Cirrhilabrus bathyphilus Vanuatu to my pair of Pintail fairy wrasse, should i expect any issues ?
also awaiting for a rhonboid wrasse.

The Vanuatu hooded fairy wrasse is now C. efatensis. But don't get prs of wrasses. They aren't pr forming, and females usually transition to male and male conspsecifics are intolerant of each other in all but the largest tanks.

Both are equally peaceful. I personally find chrysus to be prettier.

Question on the rosy-scale wrasse, Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis.

Male vs Female, do they look similar? I am not finding many comparison photos.

Females are all one color and don't have the outlines on the scales.

Hi, I was wondering if I could add a Greyhead wrasse to my 125 gallon tank. My current wrasses are : an ornate leopard, a juvenile blue star leopard, a regular leopard, a smalltail pencil, a juvenile yellowbreasted tamarin, a melanarus and dusky wrasse. Thx!

Any idea why this rosy is sitting like this? He was swimming around all night and this morning. Came home to him hiding in an odd position.

He didn’t eat. First time I offered food since I brought him home yesterday

He did circle a bit in the pipe before resuming position

I feel like he thinks it’s bedtime, not sure. Pic with flash

Is he/she having trouble maintaining balance or is it just hiding? When I have a single fish, they're more scared than when I have a bunch. Could just be scared.

He may indeed think it's bedtime - he's come from halfway 'round the world, and may have a touch of jetlag.

I wouldn't panic until after you've seen how he is tomorrow.

It should be fine, though the melanurus and dusky may be aggressive toward him. Utilize a social acclimation box to introduce.

Standard behavior and care for other tuskfish. Semi aggressive as they get bigger, generally hardy, will be predatory toward small fish and inverts.

Give him time. It's a new fish behaving nervously.

Unavailable to the hobby. Only a handful of photos exist. They are in the lanceolatus complex, so should behave comparably.

Looks like a female C. rubrisquamis.

The color and scales look completely different and the have it labeled as a C. cf. Lanceolatus

It's definitely not cf. lanceolatus. If you look at Lemon TYK's review of Cirrhilabrus on Reefbuilders, you will see better pics of female rubrisquamis. The female in the fishbase pic is actually a transitioning male. True females don't have their scales outlined.
