Got this gal yesterday. She’s in a refugium, but doing well after a rough trip.

Felt the need to show her off since she’s not seen often.

Question
I have a female Eight Line Flasher wrasse and wanted to put her in my DT. She is doing well and eating well. DT is a 320 with the following wrasses, from large to small:
Labouti
Blue side
Yellowfin Flasher
Lubbock
Exquisite
All of these wrasse are male. Will they bother a female and smallest fairy wrasse?
My acclimate box won’t be here until? Back order.
If I am going to put her in, I will have to dump her in and not use acclimating box. I want her in DT, but not if there is any chance that the other wrasssebother her

Agreed. Wait for the box. Or go to a pet store and get a critter keeper to serve as an acclimation box.


For those that were discussing the marjorie wrasse, it is an aggressive species.

How long are fairy and flasher live in captivity? Are most of them long live?
A week or so ago my Ruby Longfin was doing great eating well and hold his own. Out all day swimming. Fine in the AM and dead when I am home in the evening. Nothing clearly cause his death.
This make me wonder if these wrasse go out unexpectedly like that?

BTW. What I’d the pleural of wrasse? wrasse or wrasses?

Pleural of fish is fishes, but if we talk about multiple of fish of the same species then fish. Multiple fishes of different species then fishes. Is it the same for wrasse?

I think if it’s the same type it’s wrasse and if it’s different types like fairy’s and flashers then it’s wrasses.

What do you mean by holding its own ? Getting bullied every now and then but would still come out and eat ?

I had a fairy wrasse that would eat and come out but was so stressed from being bullied every now and then that I lost him.

The Labouti orcasional run at the other smaller wrasse and they would dodge out of his way, but nothing more than that. No torn fin, nothing. They were all eating well other than my Lubbock which is more picky. The Ruby Longfin was fine, no hiding. He eat fine when I feed in AM then dead by the evening.
I am training them to eat pellets and will use an automatic feeder that use pellets several time during the day. All the wrasses are eating pellets now. I will put on the automatic feeder soon. Right now I get home most day at noon to give additional feeding

15 for a flasher is really good. I wish I can get them for 15. At lease 30 here in Corpus

Most of the time the flashers priced low around here.
