The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

with all of those I would do at least a 10 gallon but even possibly a 20 gallon with a couple small containers with sand. Kind of depends on the size of the wrasses. The Chaoti for sure is tough enough to get through QT but I would eliminate any tank size issue up front so they have some room.

I agree with getting a 20 gallon for all three of those wrasses.

what do you guys feed your new wrasse when you get them?
Especially for wrasses I always make sure I have a couple bottles of Reef Nutrition Tigger Pods .
I also use ROE.
Nutramar Ova was always a good food to get fish eating.
I also use Hykari mysis. The smaller variety.

Thank you, I will look into getting some of this!

Rods food. Everything loves it. If they are extra finicky then I may start with mysis.

That combination had always worked for me so far.

Hikari mysis and frozen bloodworms here. I also love LRS but it's a little hard to use in QT without leaving a lot in the tank.

Definitely want a 20....or two 10's so the chaoti can be by himself.

Sand in QT but not in the acclimation box. Kind of defeats the purpose. :D

Do you have one or more in your tank? Is that a female or male? Mine is still a juvenile but seem to have more white marks now especially along the back. I wonder if mine is changing. I only have one in my tank. Looking for at least 1 more.

Just the one black leopard. I believe mine is transitioning but I'm not 100%.

Question...how much is too much when it comes to feeding a wrasse in QT?

I've got a young male Lineatus that's on day 8 of therapeutic copper and has been a voracious eater since an hour after he arrived. I was off today so I decided to feed him every 1-1.5 hours all day just to see if I could fill him up. It's 2 hours till lights out for him and he's already eaten an entire cube of frozen blood worms (his favorite food so far). If your biofilter will handle it is there any danger to feeding a fish as long as he is aggressively eating?
