The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Hey Wrasse pro's,
Can I put an Exquisite wrasse in with a 6 line? The Exquisite is presently in quarantine. The Sixline is in a 150 display. The exquisite is a little bigger than than 6 line.

Last night he slept with my gold nugget in that Tupper ware with sand. That brown is stomach of gold nugget with his eye popping on one side looking for danger.
I think on the other side is chaot buried. Due to white and red you can't see her. She blends in.
Bella is laying guard next to Tupper ware.

I need another 40 breeder.
Plan is separate Bella, Nugget and leopard with a little more sand.
Although there is no need. There.is no fighting in that 40 breeder and water is crystal clear.
I have
Burgess 4in
Personifier 3in
Gold nugget 3in
Bella 4in
Chaot 2.75in

Small 1 to 2in
2 regal
2 venustus
1 annularis
1 lamarck
1 majestic

Tonight another 40breeder
Look at the video I am so surprised there is no aggression.

It’s not recommended however if you have enough rock it’s possible.

love having my coffee in the morning and watching Elsa wake up

Wow, not even the half of her body hanging out watching for danger? She must be extremely comfortable in that tank!

Finally got a halfway decent pic of the rhomboid. Having trouble with the lineatus though. WAY more shy, even though none of the other fish bother it, and cannot get it to eat anything. Refuses mysis, brine, live baby brine, TDO, and NLS. Going to try to get some frozen fish eggs and live adult brine.

Some of the gang out and about. Rhomboid managed to avoid all the pics, and the lineatus is still hiding... hopefully it'll come out of the shadows and start eating soon. Nobody bothers it, just seems super shy. Complete lack of appetite is also concerning.

bummer... tank has a fair amount of rock but would not be fun going in there to catch a bully or a victim.
I think you could catch that 6 line with a good fish trap. He's going to be a bully and you'll want to add more wrasses down the road. That's how wrasse fever works.

there's thought... recommendations as to a good fish trap?
I have one of the square acrylic traps that has a heavy glass door activated by a long fishing line. If I was going to do it now I may try one of the Nyos floating bubbles. You could attach a long line to the outside magnet, sit in a chair and pull it when he goes in.

Ive always found sixlines to be evil. I wouldn't do it if it was my tank

+1 to this
The only time I’d mix six lines with other wrasses is if it was boisterous wrasses in with it, I.E. Jade, Gomphosus, Thalassomas.

She has been the most confident fish I've ever had. She was quarantined by Marine Pleasures. They did a fabulous job! She's been out front since day 1 :-) Not fazed by my tang who was very curious. Now they swim together quite a bit.

Lineatus from ReefPros didn't make it. She never ate. Wife found her dead today when she got home from work.
That’s a shame… Maybe next time if you try one again, I’m pretty sure that Lineatus are a finicky wrasse anyway. You did your best and that’s all you can do!

Honestly I'm pretty disappointed. Obviously the fish wasn't well acclimated to captivity. It came a little thin, which shouldn't have been an issue, but it never ate and just wasted away. And for another fairy wrasse in the same order to ship with visible flukes on it and be skinny as well. At least that one (the hooded) is eating like a pig, and already fattening up. Looking much better after a prazipro treatment.

Dang I wish I had a new wrasse to update this thread with but my collection is staying the same till my Leopard and Naoko move tank. Then one will most likely be replaced by a wetmorella species and the other a Goby species.

I'll try another lineatus again at some point. Probably won't order from ReefPro again though, unless they'll provide a video of the actual fish I'm purchasing, fluke free and eating well. Not going through that again. It'll be a few months at the earliest anyways. Already spent way more than my fish and coral budget for the next few months.
