I love the tetras! Have you thought about a school of neons, as-well?

They've been absolute (r2r TOS word). I want to add more roseline sharks. They have been awesome. I think “sharks” are my favorite fresh fish excluding the truly awesome fish.

I had a school of roseline sharks (Denison’s barb) for the better part of a decade! — they’re a fantastic fish, which adds a ton of mid-water activity!

Haha they also grow closer to 6” long if you provide them with sufficient room…

— I’ve been torn on getting more after my system rebuild… the only con is that they can easily outcompete slower eaters! (Such as knifefish, discus, etc…)

So far they've been the best of my water column fish. The red-fin/tail sharks keep harrassing each other and the tiger barbs killed some rams and keep attacking the Cori cats.

Aah! Yeah… redtail sharks are true “sharks”, and are notorious fin nippers!

Tiger barbs are even meaner in my experience!

Cories are awesome; fantastic little scavengers that breed like lemmings in the right conditions! — I’ve actually had success keeping them with several large oddball fish, primarily because of their spines!

I’ve got over a dozen Sterbai Cories (and counting) in my 180g, and have been rather impatiently waiting for glass knifefish to become available again so I can add 9-12!

— I think roseline sharks (8-10) will be my very last addition, purely due to their competitive eating nature!

Spider, manzanita, mopani all worked great for me in the past. I just soaked them in buckets (or the tub for bigger pieces) and changed the water daily for a week or so to help pull tannins faster so my water didn't stain. Purigen will pull discoloration from the water quickly for you though if you do end up with some.
