You're absolutely right. Some years back, while working during a hurricane, these 3 dolphins came up to me while watching the water. They came close, like 2 feet away. Seemed so peaceful, curious and intelligent. If I wasn't scared of falling in the rough water, I would have reached out and pet them. It was beautiful. Turns out, maybe they were i-fkn me, trying to make a move. Great. I'm going to do some yard work, bury these feelings...

So, right now, it looks like my options are Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Maui, or big island Hawaii? I'm leaning either PR or big island based on what I've done before, cost, and ease.

So.... Time for the bad news. Last week was not a great week for the tank.

• New fish didn't make it...
  • The tamarin was put back in the acclimation box and looked a bit beat up but was still fat and eating but died just before I left for Chicago.
  • The jawfish was being really weird. I thought it was just energetic at the LFS, but when I added it, it was still sitting at the top of the tank. It was eating but definitely not acting as a normal jawfish. Anyway the lid wasn't put on correctly when I was gone, but I found it yesterday on the floor.
• Also, yesterday, I saw that something took a massive chunk out of the cleaner wrasse. Thought it might survive as it was still swimming normally and eating but it didn't emerge this morning. I have no idea what on earth could do that. Maybe it ticked off my other one too many times??
• Finally, despite my manual removal efforts, I'm slowly losing to the turf. Algaefix?

This looks to be an aberrant coloration morph of a West African Yellow Bellied Regal Blue Tang (Paracanthurus hepatus).

Doing Belize in a month, Caye Caulker. Something tells me I am going to turn my 30L into a Caribbean tank when I get back.

I wonder if there are any snails that can clean up algae on Gracilaria spp. Much less of a foothold than Caulerpa or other wide-bladed macroalgae.

I'm sure there are, but I'm not sure which ones would do so at the moment.

I've heard, dove snails, collonista snails, stomatella snails, limpets, button snails, and tegula snails are good at this, but it's hard to find them online. I'm about to buy some from reef cleaners.

Left it on the sand bed next to one of my conches. He cleaned it up decently. Next day I find my other conch on top of it. Ate the whole piece.
