Thing stikking out of live rock?

Hello, ive Just started Cycling my tank yesterday, I added live rocK... something is sticking out of the rock, what is it? Should I be worried?

looks like a single 'polyp' of hair algae, I would remove it if I was you

Looks like some kind of macro algae. I would let it grow.

Definitely some type of algae. Kind of looks like green hair algae.

Its only moving with the flow of the water, it looks like it’s growing out of the rock..

If you can grab it pull it off. However I always like to see what stuff is going to grow into. Welcome to R2R! Bulk reef supply has a great video on cycling a tank. It’s worth a watch. It under the brs/wwc hybrid video series. You can find it on their website.

I’ve learned to err on the side of caution when it comes to things like this and remove them before it spreads.
