Thinking about rescaping my tank...

Hey guys I am thinking about rescaping my tank and have a few questions. Should i pull out all my corals and put them in 5 gallon buckets while I move the rocks around? Also should I do a water change right after moving all the rocks or would that be too much stress on the system?

Any other tips or ideas would be great.

During the rearrangement you will stir up a ton of detritus, potentially some trapped nutrients/gasses/etc that could harm you corals and fish. Definitely do a water change after the move. Avoid moving the sandbed around if you can.

I just did this myself not more then 2 weeks ago. I took everything out of my tank except the fish even removed some of the sand and added some fresh live sand and had no ill effects.

depending on how much you stir up its never a bad idea to do a water change after. and yes if you can take the coral out it is always easier! i have been putting off doing this to one of my tanks intill i can clear some stuff out, having so many frags laying around makes it hard!! but there nothing worth selling online lol

Be very carefull, last reaquascape cost me to loose hi-end corals that i was growing for years..whatever you do ,do not disturb sand bad.

I think that taking out the corals is a good idea to avoid breaking things, I accidentally fragged a lot of stuff during a reaquascape:)
