This ICP test recommendation cant be right? can it?????

A couple things, you are using 1.2 mg/L and ICP is using 1.25 for the desired value and you are using a product at a completely different concentration than the product the ICP test is recommending
im ok with getting to 1.2. but unless fauna marins fluorine is alot weaker than aquaforests, then i suppose it could be right. but i dont know faunas strength. but yes good point

My point still stands.

ChatGPT is a language model and not a mathematical model

You're still confusing fluorine and fluoride. The ICP results recommend dosing fluoride. Elementals F is fluoride, not fluorine, and the math is completely different: 10 ml per 100 liters (26 US gallons) will increase fluoride content by approximately 0.2 mg/l.

This is why I originally asked you to post your question. You are changing things that will largely effect the answer given.

My math would show about 70 ml of Tropic Marin Elemental F to raise 247L from 0.68 to 1.25 which is still a decent amount less that the recommended amount but closer. Not sure what they are basing their math off of but make sure you are adding the correct thing. Maybe contact them and ask how they came up with that number.

Do they for sure have 247L as your total system volume?

good question, yes you have to enter in your tank volume in there system. i have it in there as aquarium 1. but i have a feeling elemental F is not as strong per ml as aquaforests is. but still 70ml-100ml of any trace seems like alot. but im so new at dosing individual traces. i guess i dont know whats alot and whats not

Not only are you mixing fluorine with fluoride, you are also assuming same concentration between 2 different products.

The AquaForset fluorine adds 0.06PPM for each 1ml in 100L.
Fauna marine Fluoride adds 0.06 PPM for each 3mls in 100L.

And never rely on ChatGPT for things like that. The problem is not that it’s always wrong, but the fact that even when it is wrong it presents logic that seem to support it.

Edit: It seem to me like the ICP recommendation assumes your system is 350L, not 246L.

Imagine if OP just did the work of using the calculators in the first place?

Math and AI aside, if you dose fluoride, let us know if anything appears any different in the tank. I think there is some uncertainty on the benefit/need.

Your showcase indicates you are using All for Reef and a DIY 2 part, and doing waterchanges. "Gemini" sais All for Reef contains flouride. I'm curious to the ratio of All for Reef dosed compared to 2 part, if you please. There's no mention of adding kalkwasser also, I see.
The question of the day

Is Fauna Marin's math more or less accurate than ChatGPT's. @Garf?
Lol. At least ChatGPT changed it's mind if you were firm enough with it. :)
