Continued test of the Aqualast membrane Comparing to the first quarter to the 1812-50HR and the Spectrapure. Pretty much the same as the 50HR and a little better rejection rate and a little lower production to the Spectrapure.

What are your thoughts on the Plank and TDO? I am currently using small pellets and have an issue with them staying in the feeding ring.

They work fine for me. They stay in the mixing chamber for a bit.

@KStatefan

What‘s you favorite coral?

I do not know that I have a favorite. Right now it is a simple orange monti because it has noticeable growth I do not have much success with coral so far. I did take some macro pictures yesterday and the scroll corals looked cool.

I’ve never heard of a scroll coral before; it looks really awesome!

You seem to be very educated and great at chemistry math: something that I really admire about you. I really would like to approve my reef chemistry math skills.

Do you have formal training in chemistry? What’s your background if you don’t mind me asking? :)

I am not good in Chemistry all the stuff I post is math. My degree is in mechanical engineering and my profession is manufacturing engineer.

That’da do it! No wonder you are so good at it lol.

Based on your posts, I think your passion in this hobby is through water purification (RO/DI) especially through testing RO membranes. Do you think that’s a correct assertion?

I do not think so that is just what I have been investigating.

My passion would be building/designing things

You would probably love 3D printers. Do you have one? Do they interest you?

Done with one year on the Aqualast membrane 12 month average.

70 gallon per day (lowest of the three membranes I have tested)
98.5% rejection rate. (tied with the 50HR for best)

Been testing the Filmtec BW60-1812-75. The production rate has been significantly faster then the other membranes. The rejection rate also has been lower then the other membranes also. I think this will be the last model I test I see no reason for me to test the 100HR model with my automatic systym speed is not a requirement. I will run this membrane until rejection drop below 97% then use on I have on the shelf.
