..an intro.

Hows it going guys!...Name is Nick, i live in Southern california. I started my first saltwater fish only tank back in 2008. I currently have a 180 leemar tank, with a mixed reef. Im running a Super Reef Octopus XP3000 skimmer, Laguna 2400 Return, aquamaxx reactor, Koralin Ca reactor, apex, DIY Bridgelux LEDs, Mp40, and a Tunze 6105. Im currently on ReefCentral and a local reef forum called socalireefs. ive heard alot of good things about this forum, so i thought id give u guys a shot. lol ill try to post a few pics of my tank, but beware i use my iphone to take pics and they always come out washed out blue becuase of my leds. So bare with me on the pics. anyways im hoping i can expand my knowledge of reefing, so more forums the better.

Also I dont consider myself a pro at anything really, but i do know DIY leds pretty well. I built my 104 led setup on my own, and have it all controlled via my apex. So if u guys have any questions about DIY leds let me know, ill gladly share whatever knowledge i have. Im also in the process of updating my lights to include 2-80w T5s. I feel that my LEDs were not giving my SPS the color i was looking for. I might end up adding 2 more for a total of 4 in the future.

Hi there and welcome to R2R Nick! Glad you joined us and will give us a try. :)

Added a wave box, and changed around rockscape for less dead spots.

Those are just a bunch of pics I found on my phone. Some of the decent looking coral pics were takin with my buddy's canon with a nice macro lens, don't expect any more pics like that. Lol

I totally feel you on the iphone pics. I so want a DSLR.

What are your favorite LFS in socal?

Great Tanks! LOVE that clown tang!!!

The only fish stores I'll go to are Coral Gazers, Corral Collection, and Fish Collection.

I just wish the iPhone had a white balance, it would fix most of the problems.

Welcome to r2r! Your tank looks great thanks for all the pics!! I might have to hit you up when I finally get a big DT and get DIY LEDs... Can you explain steps in simple kindergarten steps? I am not a DIYer.. Lol
