The best part about real live rock is it was cool having it in the tank for a couple months with only the life it came with. bad or good Always something cool

When I got divorced in '97 the X kept all the pics of my former tanks going all the way back to 82. Here's my current tank (that my fiance' got me!), before dino infestation and subsequent tear down.

These were from 2009 or 2010. The lights were DIY LEDs that replaced 2x 250 watt halides. I tore it down in 2012 and set it back up in 2020. It's still in the same place but now has a black background (miss the blue). Of course it now has a new aquascape (some of the same rock) and all new equipment.

I don’t know why I can’t edit this however; the tank is my 70 shallow that is set up now on a reboot. See build thread. This was pre-hurricane Ivan, 95% homemade rock, Garff recipe, with Garff grunge as the biological kick off. Ran a 250 wtt 16 K metal halide on a track rail running back and forth over the tank. Supplemented with a VHO Actinic fluorescent bulbs. Tank was doing fantastic until the hurricane.

Not technically a reef tank, but did have a few tiny feather duster clusters found in the Great South Bay on the south shore of Long Island, NY (behind Panther Grouper). The tank, a 55 gal., was "state of the art" in the mid 1970s and included fluorescent lights, bleached coral, plastic plants, an undergravel filter, and a hang on aquaclear type filter for extra filtration!
