So thrilled to finally be creating a thread to document my BioCube 29 project!

Today I received my aquacultured "premium" live rocks from ARC Reef. They were well packaged, wrapped in multiple plastic bags and bundled up with a wet towel. Unwrapping then was exciting and kind of gross and stinky. [emoji23] But also pretty cool. So far I've seen some worms and some tiny urchin-looking creatures.

Here is a peek at the rock. The company said its colors would be faded (the rocks had to come from Florida to California), but I'm already pleased with the colors! Amazing to think they'll color up even more. [emoji16]

More later as I get them in the tank!

You don't have to rinse ... that is preference ... but I did rinse.

So details on the BC, you keeping it stock?

For now, totally stock. I am not what you would call "mechanically inclined" or prone to tinkering, so the thought of doing any modifications is totally intimidating to me. [emoji15]

Hopefully it's not awful running stock!

Most modifications are simple.
I got the spectrapure RO/DI was pretty easy to install!

That is intriguing!

I just realized my above post sounded terrible. Lol I swear I'm trying to learn, but dang it would be a lot easier if I had someone in person who could show me everything! I guess that is what YouTube is for....
