Haha my wife gave me that look when she caught me taking one of the fancy fluffy bath towels to my fish room. I kept going and quickly closed the door.

The next day i got an alert for my checking account over $400 charge(we have separate accounts but she also has a card for my account as a backup). I asked her what that was for and she said since she was out getting bath towels anyway she picked up a few things for herself. Now I obey that look.....

I did the same thing only with her favorite beach towel. She stopped me though and handed me old beach towels.

Frozen food is awesome, nutritious and now readily available but at a cost.
I would rather buy this stuff locally but there isn't any place with good frozen food near me. I looked into online buying but the shipping cost just wasn't worth it.
So I make my own.
It's easy and CHEAP. My last batch lasted me 5 or six months and these are the same ingredients from that batch.
I forget but I think I spent around $25 for everything so it turns out $25 feeds my tank for 10 months, I'll take that!!!
This time I didn't have scallops. So I just went with clams and shrimp.
Saving where I can to put into livestock lol.

Are you doing this for carnivores only? or do you make an omnivore mix as well? Also, a previous poster mentioned phosphate issues, ever run into that?

My tangs will scoff this stuff down. The last batch I included chopped nori, but since I have nori available to them 24/7 I skipped it this time.
Initially my yellow tang would not eat the mix nor pellets, after 9 months he is eating anything that falls in the tank same for my algae blenny.

You’re a trailblazer Caption King! I do the same: Walmart, cans of Oysters, Baby Clams, and those tiny Shrimp. Each can cost me one of those random Walmart prices like $2.82 or $3.44??? Blend them with the packing juices and put them in ziplock sandwich bags. Freeze.

Here a home tip! If wife won’t let you use the food processor, don’t say what your doing, if she ask just say your trying a new recipe, Ceviche, then say you screw up and your gonna feed the tank with it so it doesn’t go to waist.
I don’t know if this works but please if someone does it and it work let me know!!!!!!!!!!

I recall Melev had a great recipe for this:

Melev makes a stinky

($3.50 for one pound)

1/2 teaspoon Spirulina Powder from BrineShrimpDirect.com

(( Silversides are food that many use to feed their anemones. I found these larger fish, called 'smelt' at the asian market, and pureed them in the food mixture. My anemones* did not repond well to these fish, but my eels and fish don't mind. $2/lb. ))

I’ve been wanting to try this method but too lazy at times.

how much do you process the seafood? Do make it really fine or try to leave chunks?

Smelt are awesome I fish them every spring. Buggers are oily as all hell not sure but that may be why the nem didn't like them. If you can pick the ones you want the big plump females are full of roe everything goes nuts for that.
