Tank Update 2/22/18.

I got back from vacation on 2/18 and have fixed (knock on wood) the last leak that I had been experiencing prior to leaving for vacation. The tank did not leak from 2/10 through when I got back so I decided to add some fish!!!! I am starting the tank with a bonded pair of Frostbite Clownfish and a beautiful Powder Brown Tang. I've also transferred one of my urchins from my nano tank (hitchhiker from live rock originally smaller than a dime, now about the size of a racquetball) and a toadstool leather mushroom coral as well! I hope the pictures and video work ok and if you have any suggestions to get better pictures with all the actinic light, I'm all ears! The fish were put in the tank on Monday 2/19 and have been great so far and already eating and adjusting to their new home!!!

Looks good. Be careful with the urchin, I have a long spine tiger urchin that liked to knock everything loose as he got bigger but he’s huge now so he’s in the fish only tank.

Another quick update! I added two more tangs to the tank over the weekend, a 6 year old Blue Hippo tang that my LFS acquired from a customer that needs their tank torn down as they were moving, and an absolutely beautiful Desjardini Tang!!!

Nicely done. Beautiful fish. Don’t know how you feel about it but if you dip their seaweed that goes on your clip in garlic once a week it helps tremendously with a tangs immune system. Our scopas was completely covered in ick, this was the only treatment we did and it work we have had any outbreaks in over two years. (Knocking on wood) just an opinion.

Interesting! Do you mean like a jarred minced garlic? Currently I'm doing the seaweed every other day and then also my normal tank feeding that I feed which is frozen.

It will supposedly help with the lateral line loss in a hippo as well. I can’t verify this as I have not yet bought another hippo since the first two from a LFS didn’t even make it through Qt. I am about to purchase Achilles and Clown tangs soon.

Here are a couple full tank shots for everyone! I love the coloration I have currently, BUT...what are some fish would you recommend to add some more colors to the tank?

It appears it has been awhile since I've updated my build thread. After battling ich earlier this year and losing 8 out of my 12 fish, I have things back up and running somewhat smoothly :) I've added a carbon reactor to my sump and have everything pretty much dialed back in. I've added a bunch of corals to my tank and have my fish stock back up to 8 fish in the DT and 5 more in my QT. Here are a bunch more pics to show how things are going! Enjoy!!!

Sorry to hear about the Ich problem, but the tank is looking good and appears to be recovering nicely.

Hello everyone and here is an update on my 150! In the works I'll soon be setting up a 2 part dosing to better stabilize my alkalinity and calcium. I was using a glass top on the aquarium and recently switched to a net top to allow more light to penetrate my system. I am losing 2-4 gallons of water per day now to evaporation! I was on vacation from 2/10-2/18 and while I was gone my temperature probe/heater stopped working properly, luckily it didn't overheat but my tank dropped from a stable 77.9 degrees down to a 73-74 degree range. All of my corals and fish seem to be doing fine now that I got the temperature stabalized, but all of my zoas have died. I had 4 separate colonies; 3 of the them are completely gone and the last colony seems to be slowly dying. Attached is a 4o second video of the tank! Enjoy!!!
