I have a 7ft long 2ft deep 2ft tall tank running 3 reef factory pro blue large fixtures recently checked the par levels and had over 400 at mid depth. The only corals at this time are a had full of different monti frags and 1 bird nest after 1 year finally encrusted on the rocks. Is the par to much for these and would that cause slow growth? All parameters are good

While corals will grow best at certain light setting . Most will adapt over time . This is why you will find the same coral types at different depths.

400 par shouldn’t be too much, but montipora and bird’s nest would be fine at a little lower par.

Do you have a CO2 meter in the house? High CO2 lowers your tanks PH and slows SPS growth. It’s worth looking at if your parameters are good and you’re still not getting much growth.

Tank ph stays around 8.0 8.1 I have a co2 scrubber order and hopefully that helps raise it. From my understanding 8.3 would be better ?

From what I can see from the pics, they look like they’re doing well. Encrusting is definitely a positive sign.

I think you are ready to try a tester acro.

One other thought. Corals tend to grow faster with a whiter spectrum for at least part of the day.

The light schedule does have the full spectrum for a few hours during the day I have it on preset sps configuration. Going to definitely try some acros there are a lot sales coming up. And thank you for your advice.
