I've had this toadstool for a few years and it recently started to split. The smaller portion is positioned so that it rests one one of my temperamental BT anemones. So here's the question... can I slice that small split off like fragging other softies? If so, do I need to treat the cut places with anything to prevent infection?

Add a little flow to perk it upwards or to can cut clean at bottom of stem with sharp razor blade
