So, my tank is one year and 5 days old today. And it has a new look.

Yes, I replaced all the rock. Once I started taking apart the layers of rock, I found more and more infestation of vermetid snails (or whatever these things were)

I had to throw away most of the encrusted base or encrusted corals that could not be removed because the infestation was so severe. I just wanted to get it over with. I also think I had too much rock. Here's a picture of a monti + the infested encrusted vermetid. It was difficult to figure out which was which, so I had to chuck it.

Somehow, I feel the aquascape didn't turn out as good as last time (or maybe I ran out of patience). Seems like too little rock and more remaining but no space to put them.

I also added around 60 lbs of live rock from @LiverockRocks to hold the buffer and not shock the system while I ripped out the old rock. There is also a new sump, ozone, and kalk reactor in the screen room. Whew!

I haven't updated this thread here in a while. Mainly because things have been busy outside of the tank. The vermetid issue seems to be still around although not as bad as before.

This one was a 3/4 inch piece from WWC, was supposed to be a grafted monti (I think). The orange one died soon after coming in but the green one thrives.

How goes the vermetid battle?
Not too good I'm afraid. They're back and everywhere. The only plus is the montis are now growing over them. I'm still keeping up with pre-washing all frozen food, but it looks like there's a simple truth. If somethign is good for the acros, its also good for them and vice-versa so there really is no way to win against them. :(

What door hinges? Not sure I get it. If you're talking about a picture way up there, the door was just open. :D
1741142058348.jpeg Where the metal hinges mount to the stand there are adjustments to “tilt” the door clockwise or counter-clockwise as well as forward and back. With just a couple seconds and a screwdriver, they can all be perfectly aligned.

Sorry I’m OCD about some things lol. Nice setup - crazy automation dude!

Aww, thank you! And I’m pretty sure it was just because the door was open… but now that you've planted this seed of doubt in my head, I’m going to be side-eyeing it all night. I’ll check tomorrow, and if it's even a hair off, I’ll fix it. Why am I still thinking door alignment now?
