Never seen a commercial skimmer that couldn't use a modification or two to make it work better. Just my experience though :)

SKIMZ SK181 Cone. This guy is a beast! An incredible performer! I would put it up against anything in its size class.

+1. I have the slightly bigger model and love it. $400 dollars for a top-notch skimmer that's rated for 400 gallons can't be beat :)

I have a vertex and really like it. I have it out of the sump because I had to order a new impeller. While I was ill the thing ran dry for a while and the magnetic armature got so hot is swelled.

This thin is a beast. It pulls out a tone. My wife wont be in the house when I clean it it stinks do bad. It is an MRC recirculating dual becket. Plus I have an undersized pump on it.

Fills this in a week depending on how I set it. Almost 5 gallons I think. 120 gallon system.

Warner Marine K-2

I really wish I would have kept this thing... I sold it when I took my tank down in 2009.

Ive always used aqua c myself. Used an ev120 on my 90g with a mag 7 and an ev180 on my 120g with a mag 9.5. Both did a great job. Just bought a 280 so im not sure if im gonna mix it up or stay with old faithful.
