Torch coral: slime or infection?

This torch has been in my tank about 10 days. Yesterday white stuff appeared on it; I basted it off and today the stuff returned. (See pic.)

Maybe this is an infection, in which case I might iodine dip. Or maybe the coral is just making the slime itself, in which case I should leave it be.

What do you think?

I would say neither without knowing more about the tank. Thats a lot of algae around the coral, so I can't eliminate the possibility that something about the tank is making it unhappy. Have you tried a different location in the tank? Sometimes that can help.

Yes, I’m battling GHA now, but nitrate and phosphate are moderate (nitrate 10, phosphate 0.1). The other torches are happy; maybe what’s different is that this one is at higher par (~160) than the others?
