my torch got an infection about 8 weeks ago. It has another one again. Lost 1 head and 3 others with a white ring around the heads.

I took it out again and got the “mucus” off of if. Peel it away and drop in revive.

I read that torches are prone to infections.

Maybe to much light or not enough flow? IDK. I moved him from the top to the sandbed. It seems like my frogspawn has the same infection. It’s like to spreads to lps’s. It’s not brown Jelly. I had some flatworms I thought it was that but I don’t see any anymore.

What’s the deal??

Here are some pics of the crap I pulled off the heads.

Try dipping in iodine. Lugols solution.

I did that last time. It keeps coming back it seems. Maybe not enough flow? I guess torches can be hard to keep and get infections.

You can also try dipping it in Marine Melafix to kill the bacteria and placing it in lower light and flow. A water change may help too.

Are you sure it's not getting too much flow that it's getting it's tentacles whipped around and bruised on it's own skeleton? Looks more like dead tissue then infected tissue. I had this same issue with an elegance, moved it away from the flow and no more tissue recession and it stays open nearly all day now.

Euphyillia are some of the easiest corals to keep.
