Just got this new torch from my lfs and saw this on it once i got it home, i didn't dip it before adding it to my tank (i know i should) just wondered what this was exactly so i can learn more. thanks​

That's a coral-boring barnacle; it's a filter feeder, so it's technically harmless (but large barnacles and small corals sometimes see issues).

In this case, due to the location of the barnacle and the size of the coral, I wouldn't expect any problems for the coral, but it may grow a little oddly around it.
