Torch tentacle

Is it abnormal for them to lose pieces of there tentacles every now and then?

I'm getting two in today and I'm wanting to put them in one of my tank with my acan's. The reason I ask is the last one I had would lose a tentacle and it would float around and sting anything it touched.

Mine do that on occasion.. I believe it’s normal but could be wrong.

Same for me. Occasionally (2-3 times/year), I’ll see part of a torch or hammer tentacle floating around.

Don’t know if they “shed” it, or someone in the tank is to blame.

They are still growing like crazy. So I haven’t been concerned

I just picked up a black light one and a green.

Pretty sure they can touch? We'll see
