Torch turning white

Can’t seem to get it to extend for anything and then learned that the white color may be due to “bleaching”. Only been in for a week. My other LPS in the tank are doing great.

Nitrates: 0
pH: 8.2
Phosphates: 1
Calcium: 390
Mag/Alk: Untested (getting tested later today)

Been doing 10% water changes once per week.

I keep it on 100% and 50% white. The tank is a 13.5g Fluval Evo. It's sitting about 10" deep. I tried to mimic the frag tank it came out of.

Torches tend to like low light and low flow. I would maybe turn the lights down a little bit to see if it recovers. Also your nutrients seem a little out, zero nitrate but 1 (i assume ppm) phosphate. You may need to raise nitrate a little bit as LPS and torches tend to like a little dirtier water.

How do I raise nitrates? I was under the impression they needed to be kept at 0 to avoid algae blooms. Is there a happy medium?

Corals do need some nitrate to thrive. Generally ~5PPM Not high enough to cause algae, but not low enough that the corals cant utilize it.
