Waiting for the computer rendering of the skimmer stand. I expect it to be outlined in LED's to shine up through the body of the skimmer to make it look like a spaceship!

this pic is about 5 mins after turning the skimmer on..

this one is from this morning about 12hrs running.. i'm running it really low until it slimes up..

Nice!!! How often did you clean your other skimmer? I mean cleaning the neck and cup with a toothbrush? I know some people are religious about cleaning them weekly and other's only drain the cup and never clean them...

Have you use an swc skimmer before I have the one with the askol pump and is super quiet and the bubbles it produce are fine and it's a workhorse compare to any other skimmer out there

yup i cleanned the vertex alpha every week when i did my water change.. it used to clear out the downstairs... :xd:

i had a 160 at one point in time but was wayy under sized at the time..

the ATi is running at about half way on the pumps power..

So i havent seen the tank in about 1.5 weeks because of no skimmer i cleaned it last night........

and WOW!!!! acros have grown and colored up nicely... i'm amazed at the growth most acros are still on the sand bed and have great growth... i may have to put that 10k bulb back in....

And you need to test and make sure the params dont drop if your acros are growing they are consuming alk and cal.... just trying to motivate you buddy ole pal!

I've got some 10k 175w moguls that would work great for baking corals. :D

I need to get another. But will be running one for a while. I've gotta take a break on spending money on the tank. Unless I can sell some equipment I have laying around.
