BTW - here are some more details I have a reefer 525 XL -so there is a sump on the left 2/3 of the tank and a cabinet for equipment on the right - mounting the trident on the 'floor' of that cabinet would be excellent if it could be done - if it has to be above the sump - im not sure there's room - thats the reason I asked. Maybe @Terence could help with this one?
Why not build a shelf?

I didn’t mean to offend you. I was trying to explain why the cost of reagents is there. If it were free, they wouldn’t be in business.
you didn't offend me - its no problem. But you do realize - just for the sake of honest debate - you said 'Neptune doesn't need revenue from reagents'. :):)

the trident height+ the water level of the sump is greater than the height of the cabinet.
I see. You could always build a shelf next to the tank and drill holes into the stand to run tubing. I built a whole controller board for my Jbj 45 and have my dos tubes run through that

And they don’t, but if they gave reagents away, they would lose money.

Also on the regent cost I don't believe anyone has mentioned what the others are charging. However, to put it into somewhat apple to orange type comparison Seneye slides are 30 to 35 bucks for 3 (you can buy 3 or 6 slides) not including shipping or tax which puts you into the 10 - 15 dollar / month range to monitor Ammonia and pH.

Yeah - I know it is apples to oranges. I have no idea about what other manufactures are charging. I only threw this point out because it is being discussed and I own one :) I do not use the slides only picked it up for the PAR meter but it did cross my mind when the subject was raised.

Didn't mean to muddy the water.

Well - no offense - but - they didn't charge a price for Fusion - so thats a positive. Nor does any other company of which im aware (echosmart, maxspect) charge for their apps/internet access. Nor Nest, Schlage locks, Philips Hue, etc - thats why the prices are higher to begin with - to pay for the apps, etc.

Correct. I think the value of the Apex goes way up when the end user adds more control modules, a great example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

I personally don’t mind the cost as I spend more per month on reagents. I have the trident pre ordered and can’t wait to get it hopefully later this month or in May.
How? And where did you pre order something that can’t be pre ordered yet?

I test cal, alk, mag Atleast once a day. Preorderd from BlueSeasAquariums. It’s an authorized Neptune systems distributor and happens to be the largest distributor in the south east

Pay the $600 up front, you go on a waiting list so when it comes out, you get trident earlier then others and don’t have to wait for people to get back in stock
