So unfortunately my trident tubing on my sample a reagent got gouged (kinked itself and got stuck on a corner) and I need to replace it. This is the tubing inside the unit for the little pump. Does this have to be a perfect length like the sample line? I'm wondering if I can cut some off the drain and replace it with that. I don't want to send it in and don't see replacement tubing anywhere. Thoughts?

You can alway get the size of the tubing, go to Amazon and order some replacement tubing, Then replace the length with the same length. :)

But the drain line does not need to be specific length right? and it's way too long anyways. Thinking about chopping that down and trying to match the same length

It is worth a try. Have you gone to the Nepture Forums? Just to be sure? Maybe someone has asked the question over there. link

Unfortunately the ID of the drain tube is way smaller despite similar looking OD. For now im trying to just patch the whole with electrical tape while i wait for a response from apex

IT doesn't have to be exact length, just make prime your sample line twice if you have it longer than normal

What is the ID and OD size of tubing?
I do not know that answer. I would suggest taking a look and the Manual for the tube size, or give support a call for the ID and OD of the tubing.

They're 5' but I too would like to know the diameters because they're all sold out on every site including Neptune's site...

The closest i can find online is this one

Not sure if its correct tho.

Why is this out of stock everywhere? Why don't they share tubing dimensions?
It shouldn't be top secret. Not sure what kind of hold neptune has on hobbyists. But any internal parts of theirs, even tubing, which is always getting clogged, and pinch valves which are always breaking - are nearly impossible to find elsewhere. And it's been this way for many years.

I asked ChatGBT which tubing Trident's use on the inside to see if it can find something. I have my issues with AI like everyone else, but it most certainly is a better version of Google. Just need to verify what it says yourself.

It said this:

Replacing the internal tubing on a Neptune Trident requires very specific dimensions and materials to ensure the peristaltic pumps can maintain their precision calibration.

The internal flexible tubing used in the Trident's peristaltic pumps is:

-Internal Diameter (ID): 1.6 mm (approx. 1/16")
-Outer Diameter (OD): 3.2 mm (approx. 1/8")
-Wall Thickness: 0.8 mm
-Critical Material Requirement: PharMed BPT
-You should not use standard silicone or vinyl tubing. The Trident requires PharMed BPT (Biocompatible -Peristaltic Tubing), also sold under brands like Saint-Gobain or Norprene.

Why PharMed BPT?

-Flex Life: It is designed to withstand millions of "crushing" cycles from the pump rollers without losing its shape or cracking.
-Chemical Resistance: It is resistant to the reagents used in the Trident, which can be acidic or alkaline.
-Opacity: It is opaque, which protects the reagents from light degradation.

Important Considerations for Replacement:

-Tubing Length: When replacing the internal loops, ensure you cut the new tubing to the exact same length as the original pieces. Even a few millimeters of difference can change the volume dispensed per revolution, which will throw off your Alkalinity, Calcium, and Magnesium readings.

-Calibration: After replacing the tubing, you must perform a full calibration using the Neptune Calibration Fluid. The new tubing will have slightly different friction and compression properties than the old, worn tubing.

-Lubrication: Some users apply a tiny amount of silicone lubricant to the outside of the tubing where the rollers touch it to extend the life of the motor and tubing, but be careful not to get any inside the lines.
Warranty: Be aware that opening the Trident casing and replacing internal components yourself may void your manufacturer warranty.

I took my digital caliper and measured the tubing, and this appears to be correct. I couldn't find a local source, but I was able to find the exact tubing on AliExpress.
